http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2082879/Manchester-United-want-Frank-Lampard.html Probably a load of rubbish but I think Frank Lampard would be a good signing IF it happened. He may be getting on a bit but he is still a good player and would add some strength to our midfield whilst the likes of Cleverley and Fletcher recover.
Ferguson considered joining the bidding for Lampard when he joined Chelsea from West Ham for £11million in 2001. Subsequently he has made no secret of his admiration for him, saying in one interview in 2005: 'Lampard is quite an interesting case. He is an exceptional individual.' You what Berb? He's on his last legs and would be a terrible transfer for you. You need youth or an experienced 25/26 yr old
If he's free and doesn't want any wages. Tbh I think Lampard to us would be like Torres to Chelsea - Lampard needs the team set up to give him the ball on the edge of the box as much as possible. We don't play that way so I think he'd be as bad for us as he is for England.
Frank is far from terrible infact he would add to our squad if we did sign him. It'd be very similar to how SAF has treated owen, but i'd reckon we would use lamps far more. our coaching team could get frank but up to shape (i don't think chelski are doing a great job of it) and he would be fairly usefull to bring on as an impact sub or a starter against lesser teams. Let's face it our best attacking midfielder is 37 and our backup is a chubby Tiote lookalike. i for one would welcome Frank and i think he would welcome playing for us more than he does chelski. However this transfer will never happen now, maybe in the summer tho
The sad fact of the matter is that Frank Lampard is considerably better than all of our fit CM's, and only really Cleverly of the unfit ones rates higher due to his youth and potential. That's the truth.
Lumplard was overrated and distinctly average at his best. Only time he looks good is when the entire teams focus is to give him the ball 30 yards out so he can shoot 100 times a match. Not a great passer, can't dribble to save his life and not even that accurate with his shooting. Add to that how crap he's been playing all season.... i'd rather have Giggs in the team every day of the week.
Ferguson says nothing is happening this transfer window but the "news" papers need rumors that generate cash and internet traffic.
Lampard's record speak for itself, all there in history. To say he is or ever was over rated is nonsense to be honest. If you were to ask if I'd prefer him over Giggs at either of thier peaks or over the cours eof their careers then of course no way would I, Giggs has been a far far better player. But now, like for like as centre midfielders at this time, Lampard is better than Giggs, hands down. Sadly.
Sadly?? thats because giggs is a winger who plays cm now because he is old. Try sticking lampard on left wing, then compare them
You completely miss my point. The point is a few posts above, where I say that Lampard is better than all of our currently fit CM department. That is what is sad. I could suggest we also stick Giggs on the left wing, see how he goes, eh? The point is, he's 37 and still a go to CM for us, we're lightweight in this area.
giggs still has the pace to play on the left, simple. He is still ghosting past players, even at his age. Lampard is not leaving chelsea its a simple as that, its utter tosh, no point talking about it
