To continue my whistle-stop tour of world tax havens, and after little over 2 years in Guernsey I have decided to migrate to the Isle of Man. I made this decision after having spent roughly about 5 hours of my life on the island - most of which in the confines of an office.

So who's been and what is there to do for fun there?

Me and the missus are heading over next Friday to look for properties. Any tips of what to get up to in a dirty weekend would be useful too.

A friend of mine is from the Isle of Man. He left there at 16 and calls it the best decision he ever made.

To put things into perspective he now lives in Inverness and thinks that's a million times better than the IoM.

You can drive your car as fast as you like, watch the TT live and dodge taxes to your hearts content, and that's about it unless you class the Steam Packet as exciting?

Have you considered the long term implications/ effects this may have on your kids?

Saying there's **** all to do and implying his kids will turn out like the rest of the inbred **** ups on the island is hardly brown nosing.

Fun facts about the Isle of Man:

The Isle of Man still has corporal punishment. Residents can be placed in the stocks and pelted with rancid tomatoes for such crimes as 'smiling on the Sabbath' or 'sounding Irish'.

A couple of big tugboats haul the island to warmer climes over the winter period. It's currently moored just off the Azores.

Military service is compulsory for all men 18-50 who stay there more than 18 months.

The island is run on feudal lines and the Lord of the Manor is Jeremy Clarkson. He insists on his droit de seigneur.

Vast herds of feral kangaroos roam the island after a mass breakout from a clandestine science lab. The government refuse to acknowledge this or provide any details.

The islanders are mainly pagan and sacrifice an 'incomer' every Walpurgisnacht.

Best stay out of Tina and Username's arguments. They have issues but they'll work them out. They'll work them out.

The postcode there is IM, the I stands for 'Isle' and the M for 'Man'. They don't bother with an O for the 'of' because postcode prefixes in the UK are never more than 2 letters <ok>
