Bradford have beaten both Rochdale and AFC Wimbledon in their own stadium to earn this third round encounter. Watford • The Manager – Sean Dyche on Portsmouth and Scott Loach please log in to view this image “The second half, it was a tough one for us, there was a lot going against us and we found that hard to keep maintaining and keep going. There was no lack of effort, no lack of organisation, just players slightly not on their game.” “It shouldn’t be unfortunate. I think it’s quite clear to see. I think everyone’s of the same opinion. I’ve seen it again and it’s a bizarre incident that doesn’t go our way and I felt there was a lot that didn’t go our way today” • The Hornets Jonathan Bond Lloyd Doyley, Adrian Mariappa, Nyron Nosworthy, Carl Dickinson Tom James for Michael Yeates - 85 mÃn., John Eustace (c), Jonathan Hogg, Craig Forsyth - goal 56 mÃn 58 mÃn. Joe Garner for Troy Deeney - goal 3 mÃn. - 70 mÃn., Chris Iwelumo for Marvin Sordell - goal 40 mÃn. - 70 mÃn. Substitutes: Jack Bonham (GK), Chris Iwelumo, Joe Garner, Tom James, Adam Thompson, Prince Buaben, Ross Jenkins. Update on the Hornet's latest statistics BradfordCity • The Manager – Phil Parkinson about referees and David Syers please log in to view this image “Our game is about physical contact and that’s what it’s known for. Supporters want to see great tackles. They will often get a cheer almost as much as for a goal being scored, but officials are in danger of killing the game.” “David slid in to take the ball and of course there’s going to be a bit of momentum, which is what caught their lad. But you can’t tackle and expect to just stop in the same position, especially on a greasy surface. I don’t know how David (Syers) could have gone into the challenge any fairer.” • The Bantams Joe McLaughlin Luke Oliver, Oliver Threlfall, Andrew Davies, Marcel Seip Lee Bullock - caution 67 mÃn. for Ritchie Jones - 64 mÃn., Charlie Taylor, Luke Dean for Ricky Ravenhill - caution 32 mÃn. - 75 mÃn., Craig ***an (c) Ross Hannah for James Hanson - goal 8 mÃn. - 64 mÃn., Nahki Wells - goal 88 mÃn. Substitutes: Matt Duke (GK), Luke O'Brien, Mark Stewart, Ross Hannah, Chris Mitchell, Luke Dean, Lee Bullock Update on the Bantams’ statistics Who will win? Current form The visitors have two wins in two FA Cup games scoring four goals and conceding one. In the league the team has been enjoying some success recently also. The last five league matches have produced three wins and one draw. Eight goals marked and only four lost with thereof those in the Yorkshire derby in Rotherham. The one good thing for Watford is the Bantams have managed only one win away from Bradford this season, the bad news is after a very bad start they are getting better. Watford come to this game with their long run without defeat ended and their only cup match this season ended in defeat in Bristol against Bristol Rovers. There is almost no history In the twenty one matches played between the two clubs neither has won when travelling. They do have eight wins each. The only time the Hornets and Bantams met in a cup game ended in a 4-1 for Watford in 2001. That was the last goal Bradford scored in Watford. Regarding league ganes in WD18 there are seven wins and three draws if favour of the hosts. The gaol count is 19-5. Bradford have only ever scored in three league matches in Watford, one goal once and two twice. Their last goals were scored in 1989, in a 7-2 win for the locals.Things do not look good for the visitors but their record away from Bradford is a little better than Watford’s when they travel to Yorkshire, please no rematch Akureyri's Prediction: 0:1 I have a horrible feeling that for all Watford’s league advantage and the fact they are playing at home Bradford will have a fourth round match to play. In a game that the locals will dominate completely the man of the match will be the visitors goal keeper. skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget Drop in for some match chat at the Hornets’ Nest II. Travellers may want some information about Watford.
One small tip Ak, in England teams tend not to be called "company" (unless you're talking specifically about finances). That's more of an American thing.
Great as ever Ak...why can't you put pictures up? I think this is going to be tough for us, but i think we'll just scrape it. My head says 2-1, my heart says 3-1..obviously
Thanks Ak , Think I agree with your prediction too , they will be really up for this , so its all on the mental attitude of our lot!
Morning all, just had a dream where we won 159 - 14 and then turned to my dad and said 'It was like watching cricket!' Here's hoping
Likely team? Bond Hodson, Mirfin, Mariappa, Dickinson Yeates, Hogg, Eustace, Bauben Deeney, Sordell Or will he play some youngsters who are not on loan (have we any?). It will also be interesting to see if he "rests" Sordell.
I wouldn't be surprised to see all or some of the names Murray, Thompson, James and Whichelow feature somewhere, along with Forsyth and Garner.
The 1989 game was great...5-1 up at half time I seem to remember. It absolutely lashed it down too so those of us standing in the open were throughly soaked by H/T
I'd like to see him make up a team of fringe/academy players, sure we could do something like; Bond Doyley Mirfin Taylor (he fit enough yet?) James Eustace Bryan Wichelow Forsyth Garner Deeney With the likes of Thomspon, Jenkins, Murray on the bench, with Sordell and Yeates too Is FA CUp 5 or 7 subs?
Do I smell an assumption here that ANY 11 selected only have to turn up to win? Dangerous if so.Would have thought a penniless club like WFC would be glad to have a cup run !
We will see if if Marvins off this month, Any new club wouldnt want him cup-tied! Nice off Sunderland to let us use Noz! That ups the hopes of him coming back!
Norway - certainly suggests that he is not in their plans. Probably also means that we won't see Thompson tomorrow either Really can't see him coming back unless some sort of lump sum in lieu of high wage deal is struck - similar to the rumoured MT deal.
