Hoilett is good (despite the fact I find it repeatedly hilarious that his name rhymes with 'toilet') but we have enough attacking mids without him.

I didn't pick it out from the video footage, but Fantasy Football has Zamora's goal down as a Kelly assist.
I think both Kelly and Baird will stay, whether we sign a new right back or not (and I hope we do). I agree that if we had to sell one of them I'd rather keep Baird, but I'd rather keep both and (as I just said) I think we will. As for Gunter, someone on another thread said that the word from Forest fans is taht he's inconsistent - when he's good, he's very good, but he awful just as often. On that basis, I would lean against signing him, unless Jol and his coaches are convinced they can add consistency to his performances. I'm sure there are safer bets than him.

Your point about our existing attacking midfielders is the key one. I think we need a new target man, preferably one who will play off the shoulder of the last defender and stretch defences to make space for the three amigos. We won't need anyone else for the attacking quartet, although a replacement/apprentice for Danny Murphy would be good. Those two positions and a right back is all we really need right now, I think.

If Kelly gets the assist on Zamora's goal, it's merely a technicality. It was a Arsenal defender who headed it (unwisely) back across the front of the goal into Zamora's path.

Kelly's a good defensive right back. He's got the pace and vision to play his position properly, but at this point in his career, i wouldn't count on him for many pin-point crosses. Baird (IMO) is the better passer and can put in a good cross, but I'd still give the nod to Kelly for defensive reasons.

I'd definitely be up for signing Hoillet, but where would he fit in? Surely he wouldn't replace either Dempsey, Dembele or Ruiz?

The obvious answer would be Dempsey, if we sold him in the summer.

I don't want Deuce to go, obviously, but we need to be aware of the possibility that he would want to go somewhere for Champion's League football...

AJ,it is reported has turned down an offer of a renewed contract, and it appears
wanted a bigger pay rise. Does anyone know if it was a 2year offer,or is he looking for
extra weekly wedge. I dont think we will get more than the one and a half mil quoted, but it
would free up his wage bill.

There is no player I would rather stayed at Fulham for the rest of his career than Dempsey. He is one of those players that every club wants, runs everywhere, lots of passion and chips in with vital goals. If he wasn't so bald and his eyes not so huge I'd say I was attracted to him.

Um... ok, so moving on from Bandit's bombshell (not to be the offensive type but your display name is all the more appropriate now!) I agree, Dempsey is our Steven Gerrard, our Frank Lampard, he's our Mr Dependable.

    Or our Cesc Fabregas?

I'm certainly not saying I want us to sell Deuce. He wouldn't be worth selling for the money. But if he had an offer from a Champion's League team, I think we would have to sell. He's given us great service and deserves a chance at the top, if it came along.

Oh Surly, you and your reason. You're right though, we've had the best out of him at 29 years of age so if a good offer came in we'd have to take it.

I prefer Chris Baird myself, he's dreamy.

Oh Christ not Bairdy! I love the guy like my own Mother but he is far from the Ruiz level of attractiveness. I would say Orlando Sa, but even though he lived in Portugal, he still looks like he's wearing fake tan.

I think Ruiz is on a similar level of attractiveness as someone like Freddy Mercury - he's got the attributes but his teeth are a bit too distracting. As for Sa, I think it's a prerequisite for some Portuguese to look like that - look at C.Ronaldo.

For ****s sake Bandy, listen to us!

True. He does have freakish teeth, but I just can't not look at his free flowing conditioned hair when he bursts down the wings (what?)

Good point on Sa, he also looks like he's wearing make up a lot of the time too. Concern.
