As an owner of a few exotic birds (Sulphur crested cockatoo and an Amazonian blue parrot) and a great admirer of all sorts of Tits, i was wandering if it was legal to cage and breed Bluebirds any advice will be appreciated
it is the law to keep bluebirds caged as let free they cause a lot of damage to the environment and bring great shame to the breed ! as for breeding them it is very difficult as there are not many with a pair and you get a high number of bad eggs !!
another failing with them that if you're misfortunate to own one with a collar or choker markings around the neck, means that it will more often than not fail to produce, though they tend to be loud this is no indication that they are no threat to other superior species
very aggressive birds that nobody likes, the only birds with tattoos on their wings to warn off others....
Nice one guys but can you keep it going as long as our jacks thread? Bluebirds are actually known for their bravery and will defend their nests against all comers including big, ugly white swans.
i applauded the jacks thread..allthough i must have been off my trolly..lost my bottle and scissors kicked it into touch
i thank god every day i have a jack, because when driving along last may my car-diff failed again and a jack saved me from singing the bloos !
caging is highly recommended especially if they're in a flock, but on their own they're no trouble at all, in fact they can be quite intimadated by the simplest of things. lol
Like Swans, Bluebirds have webbed feet so are fairly good Swimmers. Also do not feed them anything to ambitious as they are prone to choking.
By all means cage them, but whatever you do, don't breed them!......................... please log in to view this image
