http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Thierry-Henry-completes-Arsena-loan-deal.html According to the DM... should we believe anything they have to say?
This is great news. Several news sources were reporting that the deal should be completed within 48 hours a couple of days ago, so it looks likely that this is true. I'll wait for offical confirmation on Arsenal.com before celebrating, but it does look like a done deal now. He is going to get a brilliant reception on Monday
It will be good to see him back. Perhaps the first of such moves that will see him return in a more permanent role?
The same was mooted about Bergkamp but that never materialised (not sure why). Henry has always shown complete affection with the club and said many times that he would want to come back and work for Arsenal when he retires, of course this was said when he was married but you'd hope it still holds true. Call me killjoy but I'd advise everyone to be cautious with their expectations of Thierry - he is no longer 25 and able to sprint 80 yards leaving defenders in his wake, he is a fantastic addition to the squad and will be invaluable in the locker room and training ground, his output on the pitch will I think be limited, but nonetheless it's great to have him back in the shirt he loves...
bergkamp is assistant manager at some club in holland. i think he fancied a managerial job rather than a coaching one, but he doesn't like to fly so he couldn't go to our european games.
Bergkamp doesn't want to be a Manager. He's said before that he only wants to coach. Henry would be a great guy to have back at the club permanently. BTW...is he now TH12!?
Yep TH12 - after his number in the national squad. I don't think anyone is expecting too much from Henry, basically he is here as backup. I think he'll feature in the Leeds game. But I'd expect Wenger to pick RVP and Arshavin ahead of him for the league games.
Henry stated he would be on the bench for most games... gives us a fantastic weapon to bring on if we are looking for a goal.
Just imagine if he scored his first goal on his first appearance back? The stadium would go wild.......
he is one of 2 or 3 youth team coaches at ajax which at the mo are in termoil because of van gaal being appointed on the board without cruff's consent
Bergkamp retired in 2006 and there was endless talk of an open job at Arsenal coaching, it took Bergkamp until 2008 to do his badges and he was then (I believe) offered a coaching job my Wenger but he turned it down depsite having said that he would love to work with the club. He only took the Ajax role last year so I'm not sure what happened in both 2006 and 2009 when he was offered coaching roles with us, and had said that he wanted to work with Arsenal, for him to decline and then go to Ajax ???
