Might get a better quality of football Went and watched Yeovil a few times when I worked and lived in SW Brentford a good place for a pint if the footys poor!!for H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must admit that Britt decision is an odd one , he has proved with 9 goals in 7 games he can manage that level , should have at least gone on loan to a higher level! Maybe Brentford would be good
Or maybe the higher level clubs don't think he is ready/good enough yet and that is as high as we can get
Agree with that Norway. The gulf in class between Wealdstone and Watford is so big that even L*t*n manage to fall within it, but he has proven himself to be worth a shot at a fully or predominantly professional level.
If you believe that you could get a job with Dyche! will have you a little wager , that Britt will make it to the prem , possibly with a really scabby outfit like the spuds! say in next 3 years!
We have a very good relationship with wealdstone, every season we send youngsters there, two names come to mind masey and sordell and both of them have gone on to prove themselves at a higher level, and so will Britt and Connor
From a Stones fan on the WFC Forums As a Wealdstone fan I've seen most of the games with Britt Assombalonga and Connor Smith involved. They are both terrific. Over the years have seen quite a few Hornet loanees blooded in our ranks, Jon Jo Otoole, Gavin Massey, Theo Robinson and of course Marvin Sordell. All decent and now plying their trade in the football league. Britt and Connor are the best I've seen from Watford. Britt obviously getting all the plaudits for excellent goals and all round play. A Real find. However Connor's performances are also really impressive. Going forward, great crossing but also consistency in tracking back. Barely makes a mistake and has pace. Someone on the Stones forum described him as like a young Gerrard. Can't get better praise than that. Also heard through the grapevine that Watford are interested in the current top scorer in the Ryman Premier, Appiah at Margate. He's good but to be honest the guys above are already on your books and better. Both must have a terrific future. Good luck for the rest of the season
It's the obvious decision, but would we get an extra 24 hours if we were in their position? I remember when we played Newcastle away and QPR home on Saturday and Monday a couple of seasons back, and wonder whether we asked Newcastle to play the night before, and if we did what the response would have been. One rule for the big clubs, another for the rest of us.
What makes me laugh is that they say about the game is faster now and the players can't cope but it's also mentioned that the players are fitter these days. Surely the first is because of the second. I remember us doing the double over Arsenal with the matches on consecutive days when we were in Div 1, the old days of FA Cup replays until the tie was settled saw us on at least 2 occasions I know of (both of which I actually saw 3 of the cup matches) have a league game on Sat, FAC 2nd reply with ET on Mon, FAC 3rd replay on Wed, then another league game on the Saturday and there were very few changes to the team for those games. I think we should go back to that and make those overpaid prima donnas earn their huge wages. The main reason we lost that drama with the FAC was thanks to the police who said that they needed more time for preparation for replays but with everything that they have at their disposal to help with planning that they didn't have before, that argument doesn't have any credence with me.
As for Britt being loaned to a club at a higher level it's been done with Chez Isaac who's been on loan at Boreham Wood and is now at Tamworth in the BSP. Shame they've recently played L*t*n, he could've made himself a WFC legend before even starting a match for us!
To be fair to Kenny Dalglish (who I have slated in recent days) he was in complete agreement with Roberto Mancini about that issue. I don't think two games in three days is the problem if there is parity between the two teams. Taking my example above, QPR had a home game on the same day we travelled to Newcastle. Given the short amount of time between the fixtures I didn't feel that was a level playing field. In the same scenario with an extra day between games, it would've been far less of an issue.
Just spotted this on the NewsNow site: Chamberlain says Bond is ready for his 007 Jan debut http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/542151377?-276
