Subjectively yes, but if you happened to agree, then he would be perfectly normal.

Even then 3 Point Lane was still a great pick up station for us to get our points.

    Money - Which we have
    Success - Which we have
    Location - Perfect
    Prestige - Which we have

    Spurs

    Money - Nope
Success - None, JFK was alive last time you achieved anything of note
    Prestige - <laugh>
Location - The Ghetto of Tottenham is hardly ideal but most will live in Hertfordshire or Essex away from the dump <ok>

Prior to Harding's cash injection Chelsea had won 4 trophies, the same number that West Ham had and indeed have won.
Your fan base had started to dwindle badly from the 70s til the mid 90s.
You had league attendances like 6,009 v Orient in 80/81, 7,148 v Southampton in Feb 92 and a Premier League attendance of 8,923 v Coventry in 1994.
Fans like yourself only started attending after the overspending commenced.

But that's probably because your knowledge of football prior to 1997 is very limited.

Chelsea have had bigger gates than your club could dream of and whilst your boring style of football was putting people to sleep we actually had a good side and finished higher than you on a regular basis.

What we did, was no different to what Arsenal did under Herbert Chapman and Henry Norris, but don't let facts get in the way of your argument though <ok>

In terms of buying and spending power yes. Other than Real (not even Barca these days) no club in Europe could outbid City in a bidding war

Yes, but there is nothing stopping Balckburn from winning the league, as I believe mathematically they still can. Therefore, though we may think anyone who has that view is delusional, it is subjective until they actually numerically can't win the league. Since all we have talked about to day has been theoretical, this still holds, as people who believe that Spurs won't finish top 4 aren't actually deluded until they numeically can't finish out the top 4. Confusion finished? I admit I was unclear.

So you were a bit better than West Ham in the sixties (ignoring the year you got relegated) and a bit worse in the seventies and eighties. That's what I meant by vying for third best. I agree with your assessment of the sixties side - I saw an amazing game at the Bridge in the rain when we both played well. I quite like Chelsea actually and I've no illusions or delusions about Spurs - all I was saying was that things change. Who would have thought thet Nottm Forest could win the European Cup. Who knows - Palace might win it before Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs.

Arsenal had a gate of 4,000 in Leeds in 1966.

Success will always determine home gates.

Away support is where the real support is at because those fans will stick by the club through thick and thin, and throughout the 70s and 80s when fans began to travel more, Chelsea's away support was only trumped by that of United and Liverpool.

For every bad home gate you could name I could name you 100,000+ vs Dynamo Moscow. 80,000 against Arsenal etc . The fact remains that our highest home gates are better than any other London club's as are our away gates.

Fans like us and City deserve every bit of success we get because of the loyalty shown

 Amazes me how thick you are. Did you only start following football in the late 90's?

I couldn't care less if we are despised. At least fans like Chelsea and City support proper clubs and stick by them through thick and thin as apposed to taking the gloryhunting option such as yourself.

Football is just like any other job, in the end it comes down to what you can offer the employee and what they can offer you.

Nasri left you partially for greed and money, but also because he had a better chance of winning things at City. Fabregas left you for that same reason.

Every club is prestigious in it's own right, not that you would know anything about football outside the top 4 but there are some great clubs like Forest, Huddersfield, L**ds, Sheffield Wednesday etc that aren't even in the top flight anymore.

As said before, none of us could give a flying **** what you or any other no-mark thinks <ok>.

Let me ask you Jayram, if Arsenal were a league two side making trips to places like Cardiff in the cold to clinch important results, would you be there? I may be too young to relate to that but people like my old man and I'm sure many on this forum went through it and will have no problem reaping the benefits thrown at us now <ok>.
