If a load of people in newcastle will be wearing shirts with 'virgin' and 'money' emblazoned on their shirts........... Can it be considered as false advertising?
On a serious note I'm now seriously considering cancelling/changing my mobile, TV and Internet that I currently have with Virgin...
Well it's hard to tell with you. This is the sort of thing you would normally come out with and really mean it!
Still, there will be some on Wearside that will no longer have anything to do with Virgin now that one of their business arms sponsor Newcastle.
Well if I was MrTiote I would pull the cable out of the ground with my bare hands... but as a sane person I don't think I'll be doing that. To be honest I despise Branson far worse than any feelings I have for Newcastle... I think he's and absolute **** of a man - and yet I'm perfectly comfortable paying him for my cable every week. There are nuggets around the region for sure BGD; I remember my missus overheard two collegues in Newcastle saying that they were really dissapointed they had missed a play at the Theatre Royal and she told them not to worry it was playing at the Sunderland Empire... they looked at her like she was an idiot and told her you're not from around here (she's Canadian) but they would never dream of going to Sunderland and would certainly never spend any money there.
I've nowt against Branson, and think he comes across as quite down to earth considering his wealth...However, I thought he had more taste than to associate himself with such a neck-end outfit..
Yea - I used to work as an IT Manager in the airline industry and there were some odd rumours floating about... I used to regularly travel between Newcastle and London with Virgin staff and they had a few eye opening stories to tell.
Lets all boycout Virgin Can't remember the title, but it was the fly on the wall about Sunderland when Peter Reid was in charge. ------- passions seems to ring a bell. It went over to Newcastle and interviewed some thick Geordie who said he refused to eat tomatoes because they were red.
So the government has sold a nationalised bank to a private company? Great when do all us tax payers get our money then?
Yeah pretty much. I think our money got lost in the post though . And Moorsleymountainman - was it not bacon he refused to eat?
Exactly...This bloody stinks to high heaven and is yet another example of the rich feathering each others nests while the ordinary folk are expected to bear the brunt of all the cuts...
