Big-Tackle, to summarise Rooney in a way that I'm sure most Gills fans would agree:
He has the potential to be very good, however I can't see him ever realising that real potential. You will get flashes like Swindon away where he did well, however he is the sort of player that will consistently look to do everything himself which can sometimes include shots from 40 yards and running into blind alleys.
Personally i like Rooney, but only as an impact sub. He's absolutely perfect to bring on with 15 minutes to go when you're chasing the game or if you're looking for someone to open up a drab game then he's your man.
However when he starts, he can be reckless in the wrong areas and consistently try to do too much.
In my opinion, he will never reach his full potential because of the thing that sits on his shoulders, not because of the contract situation, bu because of his rashness and decision making as a footballer. If he calmed down at times then he could be something special, but i doubt he ever will.
