Well..... Starting to focus a bit on the next game now and I'm fancying our chances of turning over Blackburn. My gut feel is a win, but by a narrow margin.

    What's your feeling?

The absolute destruction of Rovers and last day in management for Steve Kean...

    Think we can win.
But it is Newcastle, I wouldn't be surprised if we mess it up.

I think Kean will bottle it and let us have an easy win.

I have never been to St James' and seen Newcastle lose a competitive match in 90 mins (and thus circumventing seeing Partizan Belgrade and possibly a loss in a friendly vs. Deportivo), so I expect to keep up that record on Saturday.

Should be a good game, on paper a win. Just listened to Pardew press conference with my mate whos got NUFC TV, Pardew says there will be changes but is up for it and looking for a good cup run so gonna be a strong line up :). Be interesting to see the Blackburn line up and see if they make changes due to their position in the league.

I really hope Kean bottles it like he did the LC and we have an easy game. Last thing we need is another 120 minutes.

Im aware. After the Cardiff game though he admitted to fielding a weak side and "surrendering" the tie to focus on the league.

Oh right sorry I misunderstood you. Yeah may be a blessing in disguise that Stoke beat them, hopefully he realises they need to focus on the prem only.

I reckon it's winnable, especially as Kean will probably try and throw the game.

The other thing is, whoever starts up front, we can expect not to start against QPR.

I think that's unlikely actually. Kean has done ok in recent weeks, but I don't think he can risk a bad result, the Rovers fans will be at Ewood at the weekend with Kean Out banners. His best bet is just going on a decent streak, FA Cup or League. Remember, last year, West Ham pretty much were passive about Avram Grant until they were knocked out the cup.

They already forfeited the Carling Cup to focus on the League, though I can see your point, I think we had the same debate before the CC game - which he most definitely DIDN'T forfeit <laugh>

That'll get the job done. I'd also like Abeid and Ferguson to get a bit of a run out.

After this there is a nice 8 day break until the QPR match which means no need for wholesale changes.

If Gosling is back he may come in.

I think we should put out a weakened side, maybe...

I'd like to win can't say I'd be heartbroken if we lost, it will give us a complete focus on finishing as high as we can in the league

Apparently Blackburn fans are boycotting the game to go and watch a local non league side, is this true?
