I suppose I was more disappointed that he was not the goal scoring midfielder that he was when he was up at Hearts. Although I guess it's easier to score up there!
From what I have seen of the standard of football here in China I would say not to bother looking. The best leagues in Asia are Japan and South Korea, many of the leagues all across Asia are now full of Eastern Europeans and South Americans that either never made it elsewhere or people like Anelka on a final outrageously high pay deal.
So Lee is now training at Saints ahead of proposed move. And last night Matty Phillips was rumoured to be on the verge of a move after a supposed £1m + Puncheon bid is accepted!
agree i think it would, but who cares if we get him for less? perhaps from Blackpool the positive is they get a ready made replacement they like as well as some money? think about it that way and you start to convince yourself it could be true....
Holloway said yesterday he is going to try and do everything to try and keep him during the window, so not sure where this rumour he's on the verge of signing has come from.
Don't know,by sending him an email or something? I know that there is a Fulham scout that lives in the Algarve and goes to the local matches!I should be doing that for saints!
Agree. Holloway also said something along the lines of next summer he will be worth a hell of a lot. Potential costs a lot of money nowadays, and he is already one of the top players in the Championship. I would be gobsmacked if Phillips for £1m + Punch was anything more than someones fantasy.
We our def interested in Driver a few journalist have now said this. But it's only a interest so anything could happen yet. I doubt the Phillips bid is true, it's far to low given the standard and potential of the player.
Few English journos have said about Driver to. Thing is Hearts are in the **** so it wouldn't have to be a massive bid.
Neither of them fill me with much excitement tbh. Driver hasn't been anywhere near the same player since his injury a year or so ago and Commons isnt the pacy tircky winger we need imo. Still if NA thinks these are the players to bring in then so be it, will trust his decision.
I'd pick Driver, out of them both. Younger and has more potential to step up to the prem, if he finds form again then he's a world beater imo.
hear hear! in Nige we trust. i think as long as they are creative they will add something, although our team does need SOME extra pace
Not a rumour but, Lee should be already match-fit. The J-League started in early December. When his work permit comes he should be ready to play straight away, for Forest.
