I think Maradona's was due entirely to his lack of healthy eating, where Ronaldo's is a medical reason. Apparently you do put weight on when you stop using copious amounts of coke though!
he had a medical condition it was called fatbastardateeverythingitis being serious for a second i'm guessing there's not a lot they can do about it as i'm sure he's a wealthy bloke and looked into it
