I've never used one of these, but I've seen them in action. What struck me is that it'd be quite easy to "swipe one, miss one, swipe one, miss one.. etc.". Do they check people's bags on the way out or anything?
you have to weigh the goods pal after you have swiped them and they is generally some trolley boy loitering about the area anyway
The bags are weighed when you're filling them. They know exactly how much everything weighs so if the bag is heavier than it should be you get searched.
If there are too many items in the bag section it won't let you scan another item. Sometimes though it messes up so may get away with the one item.
