It's weird how all this angst has surfaced after Tash left. It's almost as if the lad was taking the heat from everyone, leaving the rest of the board somewhat harmonious.

Also, with reference to the tag-team comment, it only really happened in 2 threads that we agreed recently. Even then, other posters were standing up to Jacky with the same point that Skalpel had.

I like a good debate myself. If there was a little less tendency to insult people who hold different views, I'd like it even better

Completely agree with your closing paragraph. If a person isn't open to the possibility of changing their minds on a particular subject, then they do themselves a bigger disservice than anybody else because they shut themselves out to potential truths.

I agree with your overall point on this, in that bickering and personal insults do seem to be on the up and it is important that we remember to show respect to other posters. I include myself in that btw, i've been guilty of forgetting this at times.

But I don't see evidence that there are camps of aligned posters forming alliances against others. I often find myself fighting one side of an ongoing debate along side the same old faces, whilst my erstwhile opponents also seem much the same. But on the next post i'm aligned with a recent opponent against a recent ally. I see the same with everybody else too.

There does seem to be a tense atmosphere around at the moment though. New year's blues maybe?

Nonsense. Just because I have disagreed with you on something here and to my recollection one other time before (you're the 'play Santon in CM' guy right?) doesn't mean that I am stubborn at all. On many occassions, I've happily changed my mind and opinions on things here in light of new thoughts and evidence that contradict what I thought. It makes no sense to ignore points that you consider valid because you shrink into bigotry and generally look like a fool. ('You' is used in the general sense in the last sentence there.)

The irony in this is of course that I show total logic in whatever I say...which is why I end up into arguments with idiocy.

The fact is Hatem Ben Arfa is in actual fact our best player by a country mile and should be playing. Bano you're wasting you time with these people, however they are entitled to disagree.

Ben Arfa is a ****ing winger what ever our sheeps brain manager says. The fact is he's staring to mess things up like we expected when he came here. It's all vert well talking the plaudits of Hughtons work while the teams picked itself but right now hes messing things up.

I'm the, HBA should be starting even trying him out on the wing, Santon should have played more games and a 20 minute cameo anywhere on the pitch wouldnt have hurt, We should have signed a centre back in August and we wouldnt be in this position, we need another striker even with Demba Ba never mind without him (just some of my thread based arguments)....guy. Thats me, yes.

Aren't you the underhand snide comment to make myself seem more intelligent guy? Similar to amnesiac, which would explain the tag team...?

The definition of complete logic = playing a footballer entirely out of position just because he "needs 15 minutes match time"

Comment wasn't intended to be underhand whatsoever, nor can I see how it would have been done to make me look more intelligent. That thread will be remembered as the 'Play Santon in CM' thread because people still make jokes about that now. I'm hardly going to type out "you're the 'Santon should have played more games and a 20 minute cameo anywhere on the pitch wouldnt have hurt' guy" am I?

Remember Tiote....I'm the mad man who has no logic...

If you were to look at what I say in the direct opposite then: HBA isnt good enough for our 1st team, Obertan has been very productive this season, Sammy Ameobi has made countless positive contributions to games he has came on, we didnt need a CB in August in case we got injuries, we dont need a striker to help out Demba Ba with scoring goals, we are actually very creative in the wide areas as the stats would back up....etc etc.

Is any of the above actually true?

So, which one is mad and illogical again?

Yes but that usually means it's the right one mate. He was regarded as Frances Rooney when he signed here and we play Leon Best and Shola Ameobi ahead of him FFS

What you have foolishly done their is filter out what my actual argument was, which was actually: We brought on Perch when Santon was sat their on the bench, the game was over at 3-0, there were 20 minutes left, we could have quite easily put Santon at left back and stuck Raylor in midfield.

One person mentioned that we put Perch in midfield and Santon couldnt possibly play their. The facts are he could have walked those last 20 minutes their seeing as the game was over. Would I have done it. No. I would have put Raylor their.

Playing Santon instead of Perch makes perfect logical sense to me and any other Newcastle Utd supporter considering the fact he is twice the player.

The definition of complete logic = bringing on a better player who is a new signing and in need of intergrating into his new team whilst also needing game time to achieve better fitness, instead of bringing on a waste of space like james perch and actually playing him out of position, meaning the new signing who is a better player sits on the bench for 90 mins and the pile of sh*te that is Perch gets a game.

Perch of course went on to get an assist.....which shows you how dead that game was at that stage.

    In my opinion!

    :D
