    22 years old next month

    100 games / 63 goals

    2009/10 - 50 games / 23 goals
    201011 - 32 games / 18 goals
    2011/12 - 18 games / 22 goals (so far )

Average goal every 1.6 games is very, very impressive

This is the sort of lad we should be looking at instead of big headed foreign players that want to use us to get bigger fish to bite. New UEFA rules say we have to have more home grown talent and this lad seems a cracking player. Maybe we could do a Ryan Noble loan deal to Huddersfield, until the end of the season, as part of the deal and to get Ryan some league time under his belt.

West Ham have had a £3m bid knocked back already but I reckon a bid of £5m or £6m might just get him. Same price as Shane Long cost from Reading and look at the start he has had. We paid £10m for Connor Whickham with less goal scoring potential. Both lads are from Ipswich Town and will know each other and would link up well for a few years to come and at 22 and 3 full pro-seasons behind him now, he is ready for a move to a bigger club. Celtic, Everton, Norwich and QPR are all monitoring the player as well.

£15m for this Cisse lad is a huge financial gamble and he would take months to settle (and he is off to the ANC as well) whereas the likes of Rhodes is imo, less of a gamble.

I would prefer to give Noble a chance before bringing in someone of a similar spec.

Definately need to give Ryan Noble a chance before we get anyone else, he appears to be equally prolific in front of goal. All the lad needs is a fair chance.

Err JR has been playing a lot of 1st team footie, Noble has not. Do not get me wrong Noble may well turn out to be brilliant but if SB and MoN deem he is not ready I will bow to their superior knowledge. Noble of course may get a run out at the weekend.

We do need a fox in the box, too many chances are going begging, midfielders and full backs etc are popping up with some great goal, but a 'johnny on the spot' is what we need. Not sure who the lad that is being talked about here or the Cisse guy from Germany will fit the bill, I just know we need someone sooner rather than later

I think Rhodes may just be worth a gamble from what I've seen of him.

    Good shout

I would have him. I always buy him on FM. He is brilliant and deserves his chance in the prem.

No one likes young Noble more than me and i've been banging that drum for months but he needs to get game time and he aint going to get it in our first team anytime soon.

This lad Rhodes already has 100 games at Championship level and scored 63 goals lads and is way advanced of where Ryan currently is. Reserve team goals and Championship goals are not the same.

I'd take a o punt on a lad with these credentials for sure.

Err Noble is knocking them in against top quality opposition, all be it in reserve matches. <ok>
And he is already ours, so why not give the lad a chance?
We already took a punt on Whickam as a striker with no top class experience.
I'm not dissing Rhodes, I'm saying give what we have a chance before bringing in replacements.
Danny Graham is struggling to find the net in this league, he was looking prolific before the step up.

I have seen Rhodes a couple of times and he has looked quality but imo £5-6m for a player proven in League 1 is way overpriced!!

I would gladly get him in for £2m or £3m tops but £6m is far too much.

I am not sure about Noble having the ability to step up but generally I know nowt and he still has to get a go at some point. If not, whats the point of even having the academy!

He has a great goal scoring record why not. & it would piss Lee Clark off so thats 2 good reasons to buy him

We've got Whickham "for the future", Ji "for the future", Noble "for the future" - if Rhodes is good enough for now, I'm for it, if not I think he's overkill.

By the way, does anyone know what happened to Noble's loan spell at Carlisle? That seems to have petered out for some reason. Anyone know owt?

I'd take him but with him and Wickham is it too many 'development' players?

The lad has scored all his goals at League 1 level, not Championship.

    It´s a massive step up.

Not against signing him, not at all, but whether he´s ready to leap 2 leagues is open to debate.

Aren't Huddersfield league 1, it's a huge jump up from league 1 to premiership.
He does look a quality player, but we have a few 'for the future players' already.
