Looking at our fixture list, our next 6 games could genuinely shape our promotion hopes. They look tough enough on paper, but factor in our current form and no RL for 3 games or possibly Guly and we could have some real problems. A Forest H Leicester H Cardiff A Birmingham H Burnley A West Ham As my Reading supporting colleague is pointing out, they are only 8 points behind us in 5th
I was just about to post about this. Using the logic that when I try and analyse really carefully how we're going to do and look at form injuries ect. it almost always ends up in the oposite outcome I am going to predict based on nothing but a hunch that we're going to dominate these matches. Of course they're massively difficult fixtures but saints ARE a good team and despite the lack of form injuries and everything I reckon saints will get 14+ points from these matches. Sods law will dictate that this time the results will be based on the form and I will look like a fool but anyway keep the faith COYRs!!
I agree i feel unless our form changes dramatically we will struggle to get 3 points from those 6 games. i know its all ifs and buts but the way we are playing i will be happy if we are still in top 6 after them. Yes we will have new signings but we shouldn't expect to much to soon from them especially if we are looking abroad for players as they will need time to adjust. We need to do something we haven't done since NA took over and that is grind out the 1-0 wins and the 0-0 draws and pretty much just try not to lose untill we get through this rough patch.
Lambert will only miss 2 of those games, maybe even 1 if we draw against Coventry. Hopefully Lee will have joined us by the Forest game and although I'm not expecting him to score regularly at first, he will provide another option up front. This transfer window could shape the outcome of our season but I do think we will improve our form, we tend to do better against top teams than bottom teams. Those home games are a must win.
Thats disguisting. But anyway whats the fun in just prediciting what seems obvious sure reason suggests we wont do anyway near that well but if we do u'd feel like a genious for having predicted it ahah!
Rickie didn't pick the best of times to get suspended but still forest are on a terrible run and the three home games are winnable. Also west ham are crap at home and Rickie will be back at that stage. I reckon provided we sign quality, we could get 13-14-15 points.
Lets have a little prediction then A Forest Loss 2-1 H Leicester Draw 1-1 H Cardiff Win 2-1 A Birmingham Draw 1-1 H Burnley Win 2-0 A West Ham Loss 3-1 So 8 points I think
Anyway once these fixtures are out of the way we will only have to play mid-table and relegation candidates, hopefully paving the way for promotion.
Thats all we had over christmas and a little while before yet it didnt go well however when you look at the teams we beat earlier at home alot of them are in the top 6 at the moment or there abouts at the moment. Maybe we play better against teams who are willing to attack us?
Who knows, even champions falter just tell Man City and United... If we can get our squad fit and running by the Forest game I think we will do ok, however not great game to get us back under way, as I am sure they will have a new striker in before the 14th! Still I always thought we would finish below West Ham, I just thought they would be champions but perhaps I will be proved wrong...
