I think Alex would be the best centre back at our club if he signs and I would pair him with Anton. Bassong and Onouho as back up or at left back would be good too.

I can't see Bassong arriving now that Gallas is injured and 'Arry wants to finish top 3.

Onouha Alex Young Traore Ferdinand would be a good core group of defenders.

Now we just need that elusive 20 goals a season striker.......

The trouble is WBA2_QPR3 so does every other team in the Prem want that elusive 20 goal striker. Unfortunately we may well be down the pecking order of clubs that he/them would want to go to. Would Bothroyd be better in a 442, where do you think Macheda will fit in, he was loaned out to Italy but didn't score in 14 games.

These 2 are the sort of players we need and will do a great job. Both need to play and at present are not.

We may get Alex on loan until the end of the season which would be good for both parties.
He really wants a move abroad and a loan would give him the chance to get all his affairs (house/family) sorted before a move. It will be good for us as I would be a short term fix.

The Man City bloke needs to play football and I am sure NW would give him time to see his Mum who I believe is unwell.
These are realistic targets (only because they are not playing regularly). Defoe is playing for Spurs and once again ‘Arry’ has said he is a big part of his plans so that is not an option, (sorry CB).

I would be over the moon if we got 1 or 2 of these and would feel a lot more confident for the rest of the season.

'54 -Personally I'm in favour of a 4-4-2 at home with any combo up front that currently includes HH. Away from home 4-5-1 playing HH / Macheda on his own up front is sensible. We have great wingers in Mackie, SWP and Tarrarararabat and we should use the first two's pace to hit defences hard.

My comment above was slightly tongue-in-cheek although I would have thought Jordan Rhodes would have been as good a gamble as Macheda personally

The question should be, who would want to sell a 20 goals a season striker?

He may be injury prone but given a good run of games Alex is easily one of the best CB's in the league IMO. I rate him higher than Terry and Luiz atm, probably on par with Ivanovic <ok>

I still can't believe we are letting him go

Dl is Alex available due to the fact he doesn't get on with AVB?

I don't know why AVB doesn't rate him, he had a shaky start and has his injury problems but you can't question his commitment. Clearly problems behind the scenes or in the training ground. Both speaking Portuguese I had always imagined they would get on well when AVB joined <ok>

Never forget that free kick he scored at home (Liverpool?). It even looked fast in slow motion. Top player (even though he is Chelsea) and we would be very lucky to get him. Lets just hope player/cubs agree on a move.

Would be a great signing but honestly can't see it happening. I'd expect him to go to a much ''bigger'' club.

Now that would be the best signing over the last transfer window. I think onhua is classy.Hes quick, skillful and good work rate. I think he is a step up from Bassong who seems a bit flimsy.
