    Evening all... First post!
I just wanted to clarify something as I've seen a few comments and heard a few at the game.
The 25 man squad is re-opened in January and you can select who you wish during the entire month. (similar to August) then when the transfer window shuts each team re-submits their 25 for the remainder of the season.

So players like Hulse aren't in it for the remainder... Please relax!

    Welcome to the board mate.
Yes, you're right. I didn't realise this till yesterday and it is a great relief with regards to Hulse!!

With the so called 3 to 4 more signings coming in, who are we expecting to see leave the 25 man squad? Surely people like Derry, Orr, Hill, potentially even Bothroyd all have their places at risk?

What about giving Big Dan another crack at the first team, starting with Saturday an ideal chance not to risk Anton.

You couldn't be more right col!

Hill's been impressive, and one out of a few from our championship squad that has produced at the top level. Others being Helguson, Faurlin, Taarabt (lately) and to some sort Derry, Mackie and Kenny.

I think we need Derry and Hill, there are the backbone of the team even if they are used mainly as reserves. If we are in a real dog fight at the bottom as is looking likely, I am sure Neil will want them available.

Why are people thinking we need to get rid of Derry and Hill they have been the most consistant players in the last month and should be kept in the squad above player like Smith ad Buz as they are getting games and not just sitting there doing sweet fa

Can't understand why Hulse can't make it but Grant Holt can......could it be something about service?

Smith, Buz, Peroni, Dyer, Puncheon, maybe Hall (although Warnock seems to see something in him that we dont) and Orr are all at risk of losing their places if we sign a few players.

Hall has played well this season better than Connolly who is way out of his depth in this league, look at the 2 games against man u and sunderland he cost us 4 goals for being out of position.

Pains me to say it, but Holt is a far, far better player than Hulse!

Ezwoldo! At last someone who agrees with me! I don't think Hall is as bad as all the knock he gets on here suggest. I think he is better than Connolly (though Connolly can fill in at LB), and reckon Perone and Connolly among our present CB's will be axed from the 25 before Hall.

I don't actually think Connolly has played too badly when called upon this season. I'm always alot more nervous when I hear that Hall is playing than when I hear Connolly is.

Very naive post, in my opinion.

Although you may not be their biggest fans, Derry and Bothroyd are easily worthy of being back-up players at the least unless Warnock gets three new attackers and 2 new CDMs in this month. They may not set the league on fire but they can at least just about cope with it, which is what makes them at least back-up players.

And Clint Hill... I have no idea why you think he should leave the 25. He's better than Treore at playing the LB role!!! Yes, Traore has better dribbling skills and gets forward more but Clint Hill DEFENDS better, which is what defenders are supposed to do. Unless Traore improves, I would play Hill in every game and maybe give Traore a shot in midfield if others are injured or banned.

Perone and Dyer will obviously be out. I doubt ****tu will come in over Connolly or Hall. And I wonder if Ephraim will be recalled?

Ephraim won't get back in if new players are signed...
