    Answers on a postcard please?

My opinion is if we lose these two games then yes, Ferndandez should certainly strongly consider it!

Unlikely. MKD has no real bearing especially if Warnock plays a second string and Toon away is a tough game.

Factor in that we will be signing Warnock targets over the next 3 weeks and I can't see Swiss Tony loading the revolver. Lose to Wigan mind you and all that invested money will suddenly look very risky...

I think if we lose both those AND to Wigan, then NW will be on borrowed time!!

I can't see us sacking him full stop. I don't think Amit or Tony will consider it to be honest. They both know that Warnock didn't get the funds in time to strengthen the team which is basically why we are in the doo doo. If we were to get rid of him it should have been done already so that any new manager would have had the funds to make some changes now.

Also something we have to consider is this, if the worst does happen and we are relegated, what manager would you want in charge to get us back up??? That's right, uncle Neil, but if that did happen and we did keep him to get us back up, I think it should be on the condition that he then leaves once we get promotion. Then find a new manager.

But I really don't think we are going to go down. The other teams around us are selling players while we are buying. Things look bleak because we've been on the slide, but every man, woman and child on this site said that they would be happy with 17th place. Well that's where we are, so instead of doom and gloom, let's be positive that we are on track to achieve our seasons goal. Because if all the doom merchants on here bring more fans down in to the gloom and we stop believing, then the worst will happen. We need to believe and get behind Warnock and the team as it is up to us to lift them, not make things worse.

I'm shocked at how fickle some of our fans are, after 16 years of misery we are moving in the right direction, but no one said it would be easy and there will be upsets. But if you can't bare the thought of Rangers being relegated then I suggest you support the wrong team and there is the perfect team for you to support that goes by the name of Chelsea. We don't need fickle fans at Rangers!

I don't think its ever been a problem of not bearing the thought. Most of us here have seen the club relegated from the prem, and the old div 1, and go bankrupt. Its hardly one of the worst periods in club history, up there with the best in recent history

I think the worry most of us have is the difficult run of games we have at the end of the season. We need results and we need them in the next 6 to 8 games.....the question is, will new signings perform straight away to help get those results ?

They won't get in new players on NWs say-so, then sack him and give someone else Neils hand-me-downs to work with.

If it is going to happen it has to be this week, before things have gone too far on the transfer front.

    So it ain't gonna happen.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think you're confusing debate with "being fickle". This is a forum and quite a few people on here are questioning NW's tactical nous and have for some little time!

    Agree.

Disagree. The players we have on the books are capable of playing well above the level we have been for the last 2 months.

    Absolutely spot on.

The jury is out. Personally I suspect NW doesn't know how to handle a larg-ish bank roll and has a very poor rep in regard to recruiting strikers.

    Really? :)

Well thats where we currently are but our form shows us sliding further, thats the worry. I too like everyone else will take 17th but the way its going we could drop to second bottom after next round of matches and that would destroy morale

What I don't understand is we won the Championship fairly comfortably ahead of Norwich and Swansea, yet we have to totally rebuild our team just to stay up. The other two have made one or two acquisitions and are ahead of us in the league. What went wrong with the team we had? We all knew we would have to strengthen, but change the whole team? If that's the case then new signings will have to bed in and have we got the time left for that. My only worry with NW is his history of signings imo is and was not great. Barton and SWP haven't lived up to their reputations. Gabbidon is ok but is he any better than Gorks? Ferdinand also has done ok but is ok enough. I know injuries to the back four have hampered us...just look at Newcastle, but where have the 25 clean sheets of last year gone. Bothroyd I thought would be ok but I don't think he has managed even that. Helguson is a revelation but he hasn't scored for a while now. Tarbs is just coming into form when he is off to the ACN. etc.etc.
Don't think I have posted a negative comment before, but just asking why we are third of the promoted teams when we were first up.

'54 - I don't think its the players as we were dynamite against Wolves and Stoke with this squad but have looked really poor and lacklustre since. I think thats the problem but is it down to formation (NW) or just lack of motivation (NW)?

Yep let's give one manager half the transfer window to get some players in and then a caretaker the other half to get some more players in and then a replacement in at the end of the month who didn't have a say in which players came in. FFS!

Even if we do go down, Warnock is the man to get us back up. I don't know what others were expecting but given the little time Warnock had to get people in and mould a proper squad I'd say not being bottom of the league is an achievement, let alone being in 17th. It's not yet the disaster that many make out.

Am fed up with hearing about our lack summer transfer opportunities blah blah blah! We still signed some decent players and the sad fact is that NONE of them are performing as they can! I don't want NW to go cos there's no o'neil type manager likely to come and rescue us. The bottom three are all in a bad way too so let's just hope that they stay that way!

FFS! The vast majority on here have said they would be happy with 17th place, where are we now? Der...17th!

Get behind the team, they need us and with recruitments arriving to strengthen the squad, I'd rather be us than any of the other four in our mini-league! Warnock should be left to do his best and, as others have pointed out, he's the best man for a return if we do go down. Charlton stuck with Curbs when they were relegated and came straight back up and built a quality team on a limited budget, it can be done...

The suggestion that the board would keep NW if we were relegated in order to get us promoted, but only on the condition that he leave once this happened is utterly ridiculous. For one NW wouldn't agree; and the players wouldn't play for a manager whose authority has been undermined. This scenario is even crazier than opening paragraph, these men are, ultimately, businessmen and as such will want to protect their investment: which means keeping the football club in the PL. As certain as Oslo is about them retaining NW through thick and thin, I'm equally certain that of were in the bottom 3 by the end of Feb, then he'll be gone. Not saying I want this to happen, but from a business perspective it's a highly likely that it will. Not many clubs go straight back up, the Championship is a tough division with some fairly big sides, including ones such as Leicester that have cash; and where are they - mid-table.

Time to get real and remove the rose tinted glasses; this don't make us fickle, we've all been through the same situation and stuck by the club.
