Managerial contracts mean even less than player contracts! If a manager wants to stay, he will stay - if he wants to leave, he will leave, regardless of what the contract states - the only plus in tying a manager down to a contract is compensation if he does leave. A contract will not keep Buck here if he doesn't want to be here! But at the minute he is loving his role here and I believe that he wants to see how far he can take us; he will move on in the future - but let's enjoy him while we can!
How does Rodgers improve on a six player change , run riot at home over Tottenham for a point ........Simple ...... a seven player change away at Villa , with Orlandi in the middle of it all , for a well earned 3 points . I get the feeling Buck likes it at Swansea & won't really ask for much . But when he does ask , pull out the stops if possible . If he's happy , he'll stay. What manager doesn't want to look good beating big spenders as opposed to managing the big spenders getting beat
moyes, rodgers and lambert the best 3 "underachievers" atm? moyes with no cash, rodgers and lambert with newly promoted teams.
Think you mean "Overachievers" there musty! Owen Coyle would currently be considered as underachieving. EDIT - Actually, you probably meant that as a sarcastic term...in which case ignore me.
you say it would be a challenge to keep hold of him at the end of the season but who would take him? name some clubs..
I think Mackay and Rodgers are similar managers. I'd not be surprised if Cardiff got promoted this season, which given how many personnel changes they had to make would be an incredible achievement.
"I think Mackay and Rodgers are similar managers." Different league......literally. Hopefully they'll **** up gain in the playoffs.
they are exactly in the same position as they were for most of the last 7 seasons, its when it really matters that they go to pieces and it will happen again like it always do...
Brendan comes across as genuine and I believe he really does feel at ease & happy with the club .Whether he driven by money or the kudos which MAY come from managing a bigger club than us only he knows but while he's with us he'll get my support. The two recent games I believe were a turning point for both the manager and the players in that he made changes and the players responded to those changes admirably .We're not world beaters, far from it but given time and the correct players brought in then who knows where this journey will end .
Could also add in Spurs - if Harry takes on the England job, or is otherwise detained at HM's pleasure !!
Many clubs would love him to be there! he is a class manager a lower league club like cardiff would love to have a manager that can take them places. first year with us look where he got us. by the looks of it his second year is going to keep us there.
lol at aston villa, bolton, blackburn and chelsea. are you mad? as if chelsea or aston villa would appoint someone like rodgers! abramovic doesnt allow british coaches whereas the blackburn owners would hardly appease their fans if they appointed someone from who they would view as someone from a smaller club. and as for the championship clubs, if BR wants to leave a PL for that good luck to him... and up the jacks, we have MM, i'd put him at the same sort of level as BR, remember, it hasnt all been plain sailing for BR, he flopped badly at reading, in this business one minute you're the next big thing and then a few months later and you're fighting to keep your job, look at owen coyle or steve bruce for instance..
