The new year results were either excellent or awful, depending on who you are. Half of us were less than 1000 out, with no fewer than three players under 150 away.
Colin5164 takes the plaudits with 100, while Sa1nts had a mare with 21,105.

    Table 1.1.12 001.jpg

    -----

Some of you will have noticed that I mentioned, on the last thread, that we are going to crank it up from January.

This is a ‘last man standing’ game and the format for the remainder of the competition will be as follows.

Instead of just entering a total attendance for the 5 games you will need to enter your five individual attendances.

In true “The Price Is Right” style, you can guess under, but not a penny over. If your guess is more than the actual attendance the score for that match will be doubled.

Play your Joker. This doesn’t affect your total, but that of the player immediately above you in the table, as it will double their score for that fixture. Type a J after your chosen attendance.
If the player beneath you is a non-runner, then their joker will be assigned to your best [lowest] score

Pay the Penalty. This DOES affect your score as it will double your score for that fixture (don’t over-estimate or it will be quadrupled!). Type a P after your chosen attendance

You may play your Joker and Pay the Penalty on the same fixture if you wish to.

Double Dare. This is OPTIONAL. If you choose to do the Double Dare you will be up against the player immediately above you in the table. The one with the worst score (after the Jokers/Penalties etc have been added) will have their total score DOUBLED.

The league leader must play his joker. The card will be placed against the player at the bottom of the league, as would the Double Dare, if he were to play it.

Postponements. If one of the featured fixtures is postponed, this season’s average home league attendance will be recorded.

Deadline. The deadline for entries is 12 Noon on Saturday.

    -----

    PENALTIES

Late Entries: As I always pick 3pm kickoffs, late entries will be accepted, up to 3pm, but late entries will carry a 50% penalty on top of your overall total.

Non-Runners: Any contestant who fails to post his attendances by 3pm will face a penalty of DOUBLE the worst total, so if you forget, you’d better pray that there were no late entries and that no-one has done the Double Dare that week!

Failure to play your Joker: If you fail to play your joker, then the player above you in the table will have it assigned to his best [lowest] score. Your score for that particular fixture will be doubled.

Failure to Pay the Penalty: If you fail to play your Pay the Penalty card, it will be assigned to your worst [highest] score and it will be trebled instead of doubled.

    ---

If your score reaches zero you will be eliminated from the game.

    ---

With the possibility of ‘tactical submissions’ in mind you may, if you wish, choose to make your entry by PM rather than on the thread. I will publish PM'd entries after 12 Noon on Saturday

    EXAMPLE ENTRY

    28,336
    10,225
    7,852 J
    2,221
    3,978 P
    DOUBLE DARE

So here are this week's fixturesL

    Everton v Tamworth
    Brighton v Wrexham
    Chesterfield v Exeter
    Southend v Port Vale
    Lincoln v York

    Good Luck

    22,976 J
    13,376
    6,158
    5,939
    2,083 P

    Morning Devo

I am enrolling in an Open University course before I enter my predictions this week.

I think making a plasticine model and sticking pins in might be worth while considering if your devilish plot does not work.

    All the best for 2012

If you were to choose to do the Double Dare, your score for this week would be compared with Chinasaint, as he is directly above you in the table. The one with the worse score would have his total for the week doubled. It's a gamble one might take in order to try and leapfrog the player above you the table, but like any gamble, it could cost you dear if you get it wrong!

Are you sure you want to risk the double dare China? Singing has also opted for it, so if your guesses are worse than his AND meowth's, your total will be doubled and then doubled again! <yikes>

I'm the only one who hasn't opted for Double Dare so far this week. A lot of points are going to be "scored"

Don't forget folks, the Double Dare is OPTIONAL

I'm so far behind Gary that I'm going all out to close the gap and win the league. 2nd is just the best of the losers, but still a loser.

If I expected any-one to opt for Double-Dare, you were top of the list for that exact reason.

Maybe you're confused with the Joker/Penalty cards.

The joker doubles the score for that particular game for the person immediately above you in the table [that's me in your case <yikes>]

    If you play your joker for the first fixture it means my score for the Everton v Tamworth game will be doubled. {if my guess is 256 below the actual attendance, I will record a score of 512 for that game}

The penalty card doubles YOUR score for the individual game, so if you put your P after the 5th game, than your score for the Lincoln v York game will be doubled.

The main difference is that you must now state five individual attendances instead of the grand total.

Just remember; The Joker and Penalty cards are compulsory, but the Double Dare is optional. If you choose to play Double-Dare this week, then whoever has the worst total weekly 'score' out of the two of us will have that 'total score' doubled

Only 4 entries in so far. Don't forget that you can make your entry by PM if you like, so that prying eyes don't get any ideas..... <whistle>

If he doesn't enter, then he will record a score of double the worst score of the week. Also, because you have played the Double-Dare, that score would be doubled again.
So, in answer to your question - yes

Of course, if he does enter, as scores better than you, your score will be doubled for playing the Double-Dare!

Hi Guys, could I interest you in joining my FA Cup Tipster game.
ALL you have to do is predict the RESULTS of each tie (not scores). Game goes right up to the final in May.

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/111393-FA-CUP-Game-–-3rd-Round-Fixtures

I will also be starting up a new Championship Top Tipster game on Monday 9th.
I will post a link when ready.

    Cheers

Now back to working out what the **** to do with Devo's plan.
