JPF, may i suggest you learn to read a bit better! i clearly state i shall try to be as impartial as i can!! i'm still a norwich fan.

and with all due respect, had you watched barton's behaviour yesterday, it was not the sign of a man who has cleaned up his act. he acted like a muppet. oh sorry, not allowed to use that word... ok, he acted like a moron. better?

again, read what i put. i did not state the media as a whole love him - i state that the bbc are having a love-in with him. how many times has this average but controversial footballer appeared on football focus? how often does he make headlines for what he is supposed to do, ie play football? hardly ever. he's labelled a bad-boy because that is exactly what he is. robbie savage was sent off once and he was labelled the same. its down to style of play and attitude, not the number of red cards.

everything that goes wrong in his life and career to date he has brought on himself. nobody tells him to do stupid and moronic things, he chooses to do them or can't control himself.

i said in my article that the red card for a 'headbutt' is harsh. however, and i don't expect you to have seen the full episode, his actions beforehand in elbowing two players and barging into johnson aggressively before he even got to the head movement result, 9 times out of ten in a red card. having watched the whole match yesterday, norwich totally dominated the first half of the match and it wasn't until the 2nd half that qpr, possibly feeling aggrieved, turned up and performed, albeit only for 20 minutes or so. norwich were the better team with 11 v 11 so how you can say it was more likely they'd win if he'd stayed on the pitch i do not know. nobody knows. i fancy we'd have still won the game to be honest.

oh, and only one person needs to grow up. joey barton <ok>

Yep. Ironic genius... You'll note, if you could actually read, that I did not suggest you actually succeeded in being impartial, nor did I suggest that you claimed total impartiality, however I did say that your "muppet" comments were stupid, given the fact you were trying to be impartial.

no offence, but i'm not going to read what you've put. i read the last paragraph and thought 'this pillock hasn't got a bloody clue' <ok>

qpr are probably the worst team we've played this season and we doubled them despite playing some of our worst football of the season.

Bless... Maybe once you've progressed beyond primary school you'll be able to give it a proper go then young man.

As pointed out, you may have doubled them, but that doesn't make you a better team in all honesty, we battered Sunderland last year, but I certainly wouldn't say we were the better team. They have spent hundreds of millions afterall. To be so decisive is just fan-boy-mithering to be honest. "Hey England, we beat you after your win in '66, we're world champions now" <doh>

So it is forbidden for someone to say your team, in their opinion, is not as good as someone else's? That is pathetic. You certainly aren't as good as manchester united, or arsenal, take that... What a weird world your forum existence must be!

And you smashed a Newcastle team with Perch at CB, and a few other injuries besides. It was a well deserved win which most Newcastle fans granted you, but if that means you are better than us to you, you're just as bad as the OP! One performance doesn't reflect a season, you boys would do well to keep that in mind!

To be fair to JPF, whilst the format of his first post wasn't the easiest to read, when I did get through it, there are some decent points there, and I agree with most of what he's saying, especially about the red card. I think the best way of putting it is that JB deserved a red card for the whole sorry incident, whether his 'headbutt' made contact or not.

ooh, a primary school insult. not seen one of them on these boards for some time <ok>

look, you don't watch norwich week in week out. i have no idea what you are basing your judgements on but norwich have been a better team than qpr for over a year. we were more than 20 points adrift of them last season and got to within 4. another few weeks and we'd have overtaken them. this season, despite not signing any 'names' such as the ridiculously over paid barton and wright-phillips, we are now well clear of them again and doubled them. we know a hell of a lot more about norwich city AND queens park rangers than you do. and if you want to talk about injuries, we've played a right back at centre half since the 3rd week of the season - not heard any excuses for why we can't keep clean sheets though, even despite this being a possible reason. newcastle get a couple of injuries at the back and all of a sudden they can't cope. try playing without your first choice centre back pairing ALL season!

then you might have a valid gripe...

It is hard to take any claim for " greater football knowledge" by you serious, if you don't understand that we had to play Perch. JAMES PERCH. AKA the luckiest pub player in existence... The James Perch particle (which scientists inadvertently discovered as the neutrino lapped it a billion times, came back to skin it a few more, and generally displayed greated proficiency with a football) is the worst footballing entity in the known universe. It was the missing part of the "how to make that Roberto Carlos goal seem probable" equation...

I feel I ought to point out that Fernandes is not the only share holder and that the Mittal family have a substantial stake in the club and have pledged financial support. Mittal makes Delia look about as wealthy as me...he's the 6th richest person in the world with an estimated wealth of over 30 billion!!
I'd stop embarrassing yourselves by saying that QPR haven't got any money to spend!!

i don't think we are saying you haven't got wealthy benefactors! <doh>

we are merely pointing out that the owner has limited funds and while his intentions may be good, and i hope they are, the fact that my own club were very cautious of fernandes does indeed tell an interesting story. we were absolutely desperate for money when in league one, yet he was deemed 'unsuitable'. there must be a reason for that. your man mittal and his family have been around your club for a few years now and hasn't put much money the clubs way.

thanks so much for your input and i appreciate the science lesson <ok>

we are all well aware of who james perch is. we know how limited he is as a centre half (he's better at right back to be fair) because glenn roeder tried to sign him from forest and any player roeder tried to sign was generally cack.

however, you only had to play him for a couple of games in the centre of defence. its not exactly the end of the world, despite your fans claiming it was after losing to norwich.

That's because the Mittals in particular want to run the club in the right way and not just throw money at it like Chelski and Citeh. Also, they were severely handicapped when the club was owned by the two numpties Eccles and Bernie and they're not long gone. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Mittals were the outright owners within 2-3 years.

You said "expect loans"......let's see what happens.

thats good to hear that they want to run the club in the right way. its bad when clubs live outside their means a la pompey <ok>

you certainly weren't helped in the summer with the 'numpties', thats for sure and warnock did pretty well to get anyone in the end. i personally don't rate barton or wright phillips, though the latter did very well yesterday when he came on - why the heck didn't he start?! players like young and ferdinand are decent enough but barton and wright phillips are so expensive with regards wages, considering their actual ability, i think they were poor business. i only say loans because i suspect thats all you'll get. could be wrong but i think many qpr fans live in a dream world when they claim the likes of bent and defoe will turn up. no way your club can risk signing them and then going down anyway...

You're right about Barton and you won't find many QPR fans arguing with you about that. He is very over-rated from what I've seen of him and not worth the huge wages he's on. SWP is slightly different imo and may well turn out to be a good buy...he desperately needs a goal. Warnock had his hands tied in the summer and had to make rush buys. However, time is running out for him and his fondness of being all over Barton whilst pushing out our best player, Taarabt could well be his biggest mistake.
No sensible QPR fans are thinking we will sign Defoe or Bent. There's one ITK who is claiming this and he's getting some terrible ridicule!!

do you think barton is hindrance to your prospect of survival or are you better off with him on board?

i suppose there are pros and cons but for me the cons far outstrip the pros. ok we've had our disputes about last night but he let you down with the way he reacted and it may have cost you points, we'll never know. i'm sure it won't be the last time either - is warnock too keen to keep barton happy, therefore alienating the more loyal team members from last year, who don't earn as much but have done most of the donkey work?

i think what gives ourselves and swansea the advantage is we have kept a team spirit despite investing in players.

I've looked at the replays over and over again. While I don't think it's a headbutt I think he did push with his head which would cause johnsons reaction. His head does go in and there is contact, just don't think there was force, just a pushing motion.
