I can't believe I'm even replying to you but I'll give you one i suppose. I'm not claiming its about who has had the worst treatment, if you read what i said i said that thousands of people most likely suffer miscarriages of justice that doesn't mean that every ****ing time a "possible" miscarriage of justice happens in the British legal system that it has to end up with one of you posting a IRA ****ing related situation, its never about some random guy whos suffered it its always about supposed IRA members, always.
It was good enough for the jury too. The fact that nitro can be found on train table tops (they were arrested on a train), playing cards (they were playing cards), cigarettes and matches (they smoked), They came from the same place as James McDaid, so naturally new him. He had died, also in the west midlands, so they would have expected to go to the funeral. The confessions were undoubtedly extracted under duress......none of that mattered.
Who mentioned Irish independence? We are talking about a case that was a miscarriage of justice that just happened to involve Irishmen. Shoot me.
What argument? You just came busting in crying about Ireland or the Irish being mentioned. Get a grip of yourself ffs man. See something, or a subject you don't like then ignore it. Methinks an uncle or something didn't make it back from the Emerald Isle?
I'm familiar with all that, you told me two months ago. Just another of those we (I) will never know cases. What is clear is that our bungling cops arse up so many cases that it's hard to be convinced by any conviction or lack thereof. That's why I have reservations about this case. I read reports that the DNA evidence was from cross-contaminated items. Maybe that's wrong in which case I'd be happy with the verdict. What does worry me is that a jury has been shown footage of defendants talking about wanting to kill a black person. There's a difference between talking about and actually doing something yet it seems like this has been used as propaganda to help secure a conviction. Should never have been admissable as evidence.
I don't think anyone suggested it did. Ciaran can speak for himself but when he mentioned a political need to secure a conviction, I think you'd be very naive to suggest that securing a conviction in the ice cream wars was as important as getting one for the Birmingham and Guildford bombings. By the same token, there is a political need to get a conviction in a case that revealed institutional racism and crass incompetence in the Met. If only to show they have learnt and moved on. That isn't to say that all miscarriages of justice are not equally upsetting, rather that some have a political motivation.
Actually my mothers side of the family immigrated from Ireland sometime in the late 1800s / early 1900s but my dad did serve some time in Ireland and even he doesn't gripe about the IRA. The IRA or Irish Independence has absolutely no relevance to my life and i really couldn't care if you had independence or not it makes **** all difference to me, what does make a difference to me is having to read the same boring tedious ****e about IRA members being wrongly convicted or people being wrongly convicted after evidence proving them not to be linked to the IRA, it doesn't matter the subject is still the same. It's hard to ignore a subject that's posted in probably 1 in 10 articles on this site.
Aye, ok, you're right the filth are whiter than white http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...orruption-inquiry-was-unreliable-1495277.html
I think it would be extremely insensitive to claim any mass loss of innocent life as less important than another full stop.
They weren't IRA members though, that is the whole point. 90% of the stuff posted on here holds no interest to me. I find some of it as tedious as you find the Irish stuff. What do I do? I look at it and don't give it a second thought, you should try it. You are actually my favourite Hun on here too.
How old is the lawrence case? here's another, and take note of the guys they tried to fit up http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-15981541
