He's turned 18 now. I think it was in October. I've tried to sign him for the agreed fee of £5m, but he's not interested in a contract :(. Hopefully he will be if I qualify for Europe.

    I ask the same question.

One other thing is that i always, always lose to reading they play a 4-2-2-2 formation with the second 2 on the wings. does anyone else have this problem? can you help me?

Many of them were cheap as Danny Drinkwater was transfer listed, Johnny Russell was nearly out of contract, David Robertson was out of favour, Crystal Palace got relegated to League 1 and are down the bottom and Zaha and Clyne wanted to leave so I got them, so I have signed loads of players who wanted out of their clubs, also to get them I sold a few in total I made around 4 Million with promotion and selling Curtis Nelson who I got from Plymouth for 100k to Tottenham for 1.6 Million upfront with it rising to around 3 million if he plays for England and loaning out Rhodes to Soton with Lee so they are off the wage bill with a view of them buying the pair for 1 million and also I charged 200k for them on loan.
Also I loaned out Whelpdale with the club buying him in January, sold Tubbs, sold Barnett and also sold Luke Rooney and loaned out a few of my fringe players with the clubs paying fees, so I have had to do a lot to get them all.
Also Baldock was only around 100k as he did not play a game in the whole season and is now flying for me, I have many other players who were all free transfers or cost under 10k,. but overall I have built up the squad on a small cost and still have over 1 Million left to spend.

Really pissed off that despite being 5th in the PL and the knockout stages of the EURO Cup and Semi Final of the FA Cup, Southampton are still "strapped for cash" and having to pay of debts to avoid receivership.

Whoever set up the finances is mental.

There is a lot of teams on the game who have bad finances, Me at Gillingham is going well as they have cleared all their debts now and we have over 1 million to spend due to me selling players and replacing them with cheaper ones, but that has made me a better team which is strange.

I'm confused that the attendances don't seem to improve...

As with finances, be Athletic Bilbao. They're one of the few clubs in the game who will ALWAYS turn a profit :p

It's weird though, because Nicola gives me say 800k to spend on wages pw if i make the Euros, but when I have only used up 650k of that and still have a budget of 3.9 mill I still get comments about us struggling financially and being in a perilous position having to wipe out massive debts that i didn't accrue.

i have also noticed that the attendances don't go up.

What is annoying me is that i have started a new career with saints. this time only making 4 signings with 1 of those being a loan. I signed Tomkins, Emnes, vejinovic(a young dutch midfielder), petrucci (on-loan from man utd).

i started the season off averagely well. drawing 2 and winning 2 of the first 4 games. In the next 12 games i have lost 6, drawn 3, won 3. out of those 6 losses 3 have come in a row and i am now playing leicester and losing 2-0. i have tried changing my line up and formation and still cannot win. in the two games before leicester i took the lead and then lost 4-1 to blackpool and 2-1 to peterboro.

help me please, the players don't seem to react to my team talks, they only negatively impact them, i ask crosby to take it then sometimes they react well other not.

My attendance improved once I expanded the stadium but it went up a lot, I was getting around 5,000 to 6,000 at home each game in league 2 last season, the stadium was then expanded by 1,300 to 12,500 and now I have had an average of 10,000 a game which is great, many games I get 11,500 and 5 games this season in the league I have had the full house of 12,500.

I could tell you alot about what formation and team to play, but there are a lot of factors involved in managing the team, it could be the players you have that affect your performance, the morale or even the tactics.

I normally play 4-3-1-2 which if it is not working can change to 4-3-3 or 4-2-1-3 later in the game or as a starting formation.

If you would like any advice just post your main players and I can advise you the best thing to do.

I hardly spend anything and regularly end up with £40m budgets. Never spend most of it, I always end up in up to £5m debt come the end of the season but no biggie. Wiped out with TV money and prize money.

Play without wingers and tell your full backs to get forward then. Lallana is decent behind the two strikers. Lamberts dreadful on fm anyways so i'd get a replacement sooooon.

My tactic with Saints is a 4-4-2: control, fluid, short passes and high creative freedom.

    GK - Goalkeeper (defend)
    DL - Full Back (automatic)
    DC - Centre Back (cover)
    DC - Centre Back (stopper)
    DR - Full Back (automatic)
LM - Winger (attack) - If Lallana, set to cut inside
    MC - Central Midfielder (support)
MC - Deep Lying Playmaker (support)
    RM - Winger (attack)
    ST - Poacher (attack)
    ST - Trequartista (attack)

I generally take a calm approach to team talks, but sometimes passionate for big games, and assertive to shake off poor form. Very rarely use aggressive, cautious or reluctant. Only fine players if they have a continuously poor disciplinary record and you have already warned them. I recently fined a player after he got sent off for diving and he was not happy.

For Saints I only have individual instructions on Lallana, and that is to set his wide play to cut inside. If you have anyone with a high long shots attribute but whose position doesn't utilize it, set long shots to often on player instructions. Other than that, I don't change too much.
