Four of those signings were good value. Three of those signings have worked out well. Only Beckford and Mills (at this point in time) appear to have been mistakes.
Mills hasnt been that bad. It because of the price tag everyone expects he is brilliant every game when its not going to happen. The only thing he is doing wrong now is he keeps getting sent off
No chance in signing Sharp, he has been quoted saying: Sharp says he would be open to joining a Championship side who are pushing for promotion but does not want to battle the drop, with beleaguered Doncaster currently rock-bottom of the table. You are not pusing for promotion, more chance in signing Maynard than Sharp. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11734/7406235/Sharp-won-t-rush-move
But we could have signed 20 Sol Bamba's for the price of Mills - and Bamba's better! That says to be Mills was a mistake.
We're four points from the play-offs and will be signin a number of top players. Promotion is certainly still a target.
He will sign for West Ham. You are fighting for the play offs not promotion. There is a huge difference.
Mr Bristol what will your rich club spend there winfall £1.5Million transfer fee for NM on this January?
We offered you 9M for Maynard and Wolves just offered 1M for him We said if you keep him past August you will lose no one else. Maynard will get his prem move and you will end up with next to no money
But surely now you can admit what we were telling you all summer; that from your point of view, you should have taken the money from us and spent it to significantally improve your team.
Bristol City are the only losers in the whole transfer debacle. Also Bristol City are a prime example that a supposedly rich club that doesnt spend money does not achieve success. In fact it gets you a relegation scrap
Bristol could have got a decent replacement for Maynard and done the whole team up if they accepted our offer. Now they will get a crap replacement for Maynard and they will be stuck with the same team that has seen them do so well so far this season Like signing Derby's rejects on loan
You never offered £9m, from what i have read, you seem to get that from a "Local Reporter" What a load of tosh! Do you know, i am very happy to admit that i was 100% wrong with Maynard, i was one that said we will keep him and he will sign an extention with a get out clause should a premier league club come in for him. In hindsight, we should have sold him, but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and i am the first to admit, that Proud Fox you are correct, we should have sold him for the (rumoured) £6m
But, I'd say West Ham can get promoted with they players they have. Sharp wouldn't even be guaranteed to play for them in this league, nevermind in the Prem. I think he would walk into our first team.
