Charlie to drop a division? He's more than worthy of a Prem team. Would be very surprised if this happened, especially as the Euro's are round the corner.
He knows bar injury to Walker, he's not getting a game. This may alert PL clubs SoS, who maybe thought he wasn't available.
Yeah I'd be surprised if a Prem club doesn't come in for him. He's better than most in the league in his position, it's just unfortunate for him that Walker's been brilliant.
Is he available as far as Spurs are concerned though? isn't he our only cover? I know YK can play there, not ideal though if Walker was out for a while.
Yeah he is our only other natural right back. Can only presume that IF we were to loan out him it'd have a recall option inserted into the deal. Or perhaps we're able to recall Naughton now if needed?
Kaboul's quality at RB though. I'd rather he didn't have to play a long period there because he's doing so well at CB but with Dawson back I'm sure we could afford to move him out there to cover Kyle if he gets a knock. Benny can also play there but I think we all know how bad he is when he's out of position, perhaps some kind of illusion with mirrors could convince him he's actually playing at left back and would be fine?
Tbh he's only making noises because of the Euros in the summer and he's not playing atm, which is fair enough, bit I don't see any sympathy from Harry on that, let alone appease him with a loan for that reason.
We can't recall players from season-long loans. If we were to loan Corluka out, I'd rather we loaned him to Newcastle - they're picking up injuries at the back so he could move into the team and do a good job, and he'll fit in with the way they play.
Loaning him out shouldn't be an option. If someone wants to pay good money for him, then we should consider it, but only because he's likely to strop otherwise. With the likes of Kyle Naughton, Adam Smith and Nathan Byrne queueing up to replace him, we don't need to think of any long-term options. A loanee of our own might be an idea, but this also might be one of the considerations for someone like Samba or Cahill. Kaboul has shown that he's a capable right-back and even Gallas can play there in a pinch, plus Livermore might be able to do a job, too. Perhaps Redknapp's determined not to be left short in the centre, even if it means risking a makeshift option on the right?
Corluka on loan is ridiculous. Sell him and get some cash or keep him as back up and competition for Walker.
I'm sure some season-long loans do have an option to recall, we recalled Walker from Sheff Utd when he was on a season-long loan. Though to be fair I'm sure we'd just recall Charlie (should he be loaned) IF we were desperate in the RB area. Yeah to be honest I agree with that. No point loaning him, doesn't really benefit us as he's not going to progress much now. Sell or keep for competition. Might be best to wait for the summer though, if he impresses in the Euro's we could try and sell him for a decent fee.
Keep him as cover and play him in the FA Cup matches. The difference between winning the league this season and coming fourth could be as small as a couple of backup players to cover injury. Any players loaned out must be recallable.
wow were talking aout winning the league nowadays!!! thats all im saying! p.s 3 points for Pool and us and we are 3 points behind with a game in hand.
PNP, I read somewhere today that Cahill thinks he's worth 100k a week, hence personal terms break down at the Bridge...based on what I don't know!
