Yes loach has weakneses to his game- a very good shot stopper, variable command of area.

If he was decent in both hed be on a prem bench. At this level coceding one a game aint bad scoring one a game is dire.

Someone posted they hadnt seen a home game we didnt deserve to draw- must be watching diffent games

Bit harsh there - wasn't his fault by all accounts. I doubt there will be an appeal though - Bond was apparently expected to play next week anyway & an appeal may only be viewed as frivolous, meaning an increased suspension.

Wonder who will be on the bench against Bradford though?

I will reserve judgement till i see it, but it sounded harsh by all accounts. But i was calling for blood when the Charlton keeper handled the ball outside his area and did say that any contact with a keepers hands or arms outside the box should be a red card. We shall see.

It will most likely be Jack Bonham, the U18 Keeper.

Unless we recall Renee or buy/loan a keeper
Incidentally up to the red card which seems to be very harsh , Loach played really well and kept us in it !

I wouldn't panic too much about Bonham being on the bench on Saturday.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, today was the first goalkeeping substitute Watford have made in a competitive match since Loach's debut.

I hope Dyche does appeal today. If it succeeds, Loach is very much vindicated. If it fails, at least he knows the club is standing by him, even if some of the fans aren't.

Adrian Mariappa told me he was shouting at Futacs for the foul on Loach before looking up & seeing ref brandishing the red card.

    Agreed NNW!

I must admit I heard about this on radio 5 live while driving back to the UK and thought the worst as in 'what the hell as he done now'<yikes> But by all accounts he was playing well right up till that point:( I have not see the incident so I cannot comment, but it does seem harsh! Not my favourite player but you never like to see someone get sent off under shall we say suspicious circumstances!

Was at the game, and thought it was a rediculous decision. From our end, it looked like the striker simply ran through him, and Loach accidently hit the ball with his hand going over the top of their player! He was playing extremely well up until then and had made some great saves!

Norway - is this SL saying at the end that Watford fans have tweeted him telling him to go?

Just seen red card on Sky. 2 words sum it up 'NO WAY'. Salisbury summed it up perfectly,SL couldn't even see where the ball was, he was facing the ground wondering how to protect himself from a serious injury!
SL is also now trying to take more control of his area, good to see it,hopefully he'll start to gain defenders trust if he's still here..hope he is(there I've said it!)<peacedove>

A couple of things that frustrate me with Sl that I believe impact his concentration is his continual looking up to his dad and brother during the game and his recent decision to have a half sleeve tattoo roughly four days before a game (Norway questioned him on Twitter if that was wise I recall).

The tattoo will affect his condition briefly but the concentration on the game when looking away must have an effect.

He is and has been a concern from a confidence point of view in my eyes for a while now.

I also question why we have one "first team" keeper and two not so strong back-up's (one on loan). Poor planning?

mkhornet69 - you must miss a lot of each match by continually watching SL to see who he is watching! <whistle>

As to the keeper 'problem', I think we are fairly well served in that regard rather than simply having "two not so strong back-up's". Whilst the jury may still be out on RG, JB is so highly rated that he has international honours despite having no club first team experience until yesterday. I suspect that not many teams outside of the EPL can lay claim to two international keepers on their books - and many will be casting a jealous eye our way this coming month.

BB, it's 3 - although RG only had 1 RoI U-21 cap. Does that count or do you mean in with full squads?
