Gk: Lonergan Lb: White Cb: Lees Cb: Signing (St Ledger or Killgallon?) Rb: Connolly (Why was he dropped? Not at Barnsley game) Ldm: Brown/Thompson/Pugh Rdm: Clayton Ram: Snodgrass Cam: Howson Lam: Townsend St: Somma Subs: Bruce, Gk?, Nunez, Sam, McCormack Do you feel that side could get into the play-offs? Personally I do.
decent Side Id go for Danny Collins, Lichaj, Keith Andrews and we could get promotion need Somma to get fit Connolly was awful v Barnsley n had a huge bust up early on in season with SG when he dropped him he will leave in the window
GK: Lonners RB: Connolly/Thompson/Signing CB: Lees CB: Signing LB: White/Pugh CM: Brown/Thompson/Pugh CM: Clayton RW: Snoddy AM: Howson LW: Townsend ST: Becchio Bench: From - Taylor, Bruce, O'Dea, Bromby, Connolly, Pugh, Thompson, Brown, Nunez, Sam, McCormack, Somma, Forssell
Andrews can play in either role, can't help but feel Adam Clayton struggles with his fitness so could do with a quality back up! People slagged Howson off when he was player the unrecognised role but how we have missed him!
Thom Kirwin and Eddie Gray were suggesting he was much better yesterday, and it's harsh to judge him as he's not had a proper run since his injury. Still our best striker IMO. Certainly don't see how you can stick Somma ahead of him, he's not only not very good up front on his own, he's only put in one good performance when he's started a game, he's the definition of a super-sub.
Becchio was terrible again yesterday, absolutely shocking! We need someone upfront who can score goals. Playing Somma is the best option. He can score a goal from nothing and is all round a much better player. Honestly mate everyone aroubd me thought the same. And as for Forsell...
Andrews apparently has a good eye for goal aswell? Never seen him play so can't really comment. Thompson looked a good player yesterday.
Becchio was okay yesterday but he struggles to get the ball on the floor and distribute! Forssell was a ****ing joke though
First half he seemed to be playing in midfield, awful positioning and he can't really play football, terrible technique. He was the lone striker but never ever made any good runs. Meaning all the play was played infront of their defence, which is why we struggled to break them down. Too many people look at Becchio through rose-tinted glasses.
Connolly Vs Barnsley imo put in the single worst performance "positionally" that i have ever seen, and ive seen Crainey, Sa, Clapham etc etc etc Kisnorbo was the only player worse on the day! "you'll never beat Kisnorbo" - yes i would, and so would my 3yr old neice, and so would Heather ****in Mills!!
Becchio didn't do too badly. There weren't too many chances created for him. Killgallon or St. Ledger (or both) would be great for a CB.
The problem with Becchio for me, is that he can only score chanes that are on a plate. He very rarely does something special, such as McCormacks goal against Brighton. As a lone striker he needs to influence the game, he didn't do that yesterday. He was too easily played out the game. Dont get me wrong I love Becchio, the work he has done for this club is fantastic! I don't believe he is anywhere near top fitness or form. But I think for now we need someone up top who oppositions fear. Such as Beckford/Somma. Could you complain if Becchio was dropped? Having said all that we need a settled side. If Grayson is going to drop him do it now, not in 2-3 games time. Give him a run of 5 games and see what happens? Confidenr he will bag 12-15 goals this season, but looks terrible at the moment.
Andrews was outstanding against Barnsleyhas an attacking mid field player he has great qualities and is a very good captainwe do need him and Blackburn as i have pointed out need the money I would think an offer around 400k would get him.Kilgallon played for Sunderland so forget him along with ST LEDGER HES ON £20K A WEEK
Sounds like Andrews is the missing link from yesterday. Nunez put in a good shirt though in fairness. Again St Ledger just a rumour I heard on here mate What did you make of Becchio yesterday?
No - We would be there now if it were good enough. Townsend has only had one game, he looks to be a direct replacement for Gradel, we did not make the playoffs with Gradel last year. You are hoping we sign a decent CB, chances are Bates won't spend as much as would be required to bring the quality we need. I can't help feel we would have been looking at a draw or defeat yesterday if it wasn't for the red card. You are hoping we do not get any suspensions or injuries to key players, our bench is not strong enough.
That team hasn't even played together yet? Fair enough you hve your opinion but why so depressive? Yesterday we bossed all the way through. Their only chances came from mistakes from Kisnorbo and O'Dea, but of whom aren't in my X11. Only thing we missed yesterday was quality in end product. Howson, Somma and Snodgrass provide that.
