The foul Lampard committed in the first half sliding into Wolves player Adam Hamill was nothing more than a yellow card as Lampard's challenge wasn't a two footed tackle but one and Hamill has shin pads to protect his shin.

Chelsea took the lead with Mata's corner which finds Ramires to score. Wolves showed a lot of determination and didn't know when to give up which was shown with their equalizer as Stephen Ward smashed in Steven Fletcher's cross low into the net.

Lampard is a legend. Again scoring a match winner for Chelsea when we need it most. Ashley Cole collected Torres's Pass on the left then Cole delivered a brilliant cross for Lampard to volley home at close range.

Plaudits as well for Petr Cech for that stunning shot stopping save in the final seconds of the game.

That's 1 win in 5 matches for AVB's Chelsea team.

Great win and credit to Cech and the legend lamps, still don't paper over the cracks though and you have to ask if Lampard wern't in the team and a more creative player like Moutinho/Modric/Gotze was in his place would we have won easier

We absolutely battered them, scoreline doesn't show it but we were playing some beautiful stuff.

I don't believe Lamps deserved a red, BUT having seen some of the things given this season it probably was a red. Referee was quite generous towards us today I thought but nothing we can do about that.

They sure are, if the fulham-arsenal game stays as it is then it really is going to be a all out war between us arsenal and spurs for 3rd and 4th !! Looks like liverpool will hold off newcastle for 6th now after this weekends results though

Undefeated and 100% win record in 2012. We couldn't say that this time last year could we?

    Onwards and upwards!

Only Wolves, ( no insult intended) but in truth, we really only just shaded them. Better? Definitely. Deserved win, definitely.
Better than Aston Villa ? No brainer.
    Great improvement ? Definitely not.
Manager gets tactics and subs right ?? Not really.
We beat a team we should reasonably expect to beat. Big deal.
Still little flair, ( Mata and Torres excepted ) too slow, as always. Struggled to find a way through a lowly placed teams' defence.
Still lacking guile, power and speed through the midfield.
Normally we wouldn't even get excited about a win like this, but we've been so crappy, we see this as something good.
Keep focused. We're miles off where we need to be.
Out with the old, in with the new.
If you're not going forwards, you're actually going backwards.
Us ??? We're swimming against the stream.

I read that Lamps and AVB are not best buddies at the moment! I dont like the sound of that personally, as I think AVB has the backing of the squad mainly and will ultimately bring home the bacon! At the same time I have all the time in the world for Chelsea legend ,Lamps!
Come on guys, kiss and make up!

    Difficult one isn't it!

I love Frank Lampard and what he's done for us, but at the same time I feel that he should stop being a stroppy berk and prove his worth to the manager.

He has scored the goals, but he needs to adapt his style to the way AVB wants to play, which is quick and incisive football...never his strong point to be honest, more based on positional play and power.

There have been worse fall outs that have recovered...look at Beckham with Capello at Real, dumped out of the squad, held his nerve and continued to train his nuts off and hey presto - back in the squad and the driving force behind them winning the league that year<ok>

Good win but we made hard work of it again.

How many more last 5-10 minute goals are we going to concede this season??? Combination of poor defending/concentration and not shutting the game out earlier. Those Valencia / City performances seem a long time ago now!!

We can't keep chucking money at the problem but I think we badly need something to ignite this side in the midfield. Just like most seasons of recent years, xmas has once again been our undoing and now we have ACN looming too.

Looks like a long season ahead. Still AVB must stay to oversee this transition.
