Yes, seriously. Good to see a few Rangers fans admit that Holt was NOT trying to get him. BJ was too busy trying to continue the scrap to appeal to the ref. And the Norwich players weren't half as bad as QPR, players manager and bench in the second half where I've never seen so many appeals and attempts to get Norwich players carded.

That's just a matter of opinion and we can argue the toss about it. Unfortunately, al footballers appeal these days, just some are worse than others, and you cant deny that we could have done a lot more appealing, but didn't need to because e ref came to a conclusion alone. The point of my post I notice you don't bother responding to. No-one on MOTD accused us of cheating, because we didn't. So you can stop with that and move one. We don't play you again this season and so don't want to hear from you again. If you, despite NW's best efforts, manage to stay up and so do we, we'll chat friendly like again next year

    Move on

He certainly doesn't have a lot going on upstairs and the photo is stupid- will get a bollocking and probably dropped to the bench for this.

How you can say it wasn't a sending of I don't understand? No-one really knows, because the footage is so unclear. We don't even know WHY he was sent off, as the ref and the linesman didn't see it first time.

Even Barton himself had to watch the footage 25 times before he could make up his mind whether he head butted or not. The point is, no-one other than BJ and JB knows whether there was any contact, and no-one other than the officials know why Barton was sent off. Rough justice maybe, Johnson's response stupid maybe, but it's got nothing to do with whether Norwich players cheated or not

Hmm, I'm afraid 'chat friendly' with Norwich is history for me.

Rob - sort of take your point but it is all part of the scenario.

Enough from me now. Work to do.

The ref pointed to his head to suggest he was sending him off for a headbutt. Incredibly minimal contact or not, Johnson has milked it but what is most grating is that it's quite clear that neither of the officials saw it and also let numerous snide fouls on Barton go unpunished which should have been acted upon to avoid it all building up to such handbags.

Canary Rob, you make a very valid point "We don't even know WHY he was sent off, as the ref and the linesman didn't see it first time."

The ref appeared to miss a lot of things yesterday - however, over this Xmas /new Year period as a whole there have been some extremely strange refereeing decisions: ie - Lampard and Cole should have both been sent off for chelsea yesterday, the Wolves player sent off aganst Arsenal (for a nothing challenge compared to Lampards) and Barton's (who sadly for us) his reputation is always going to count against him. There are probably others but cannot think right now.

Whilst it appears from MOTD that no contact was made, the fact that Barton put himself in that position was just plain stupid, and maybe IF QPR lodged an appeal it wuld be thrown out because of the "intent" shown by Barton.

personally, I am disappointed with Barton, the ref for not spotting a earlier foul, the linesperson....and the eventual result. The last few results between our teams have always been decent games with the ball played on the deck......just a shame we cannot have more professional referees.

OK as I've said before fair play to Holt. BJ was too busy trying to "continue the scrap"? No, initially he was too busy rubbing his face at a non-existent injury which he didn't get from a non-existent head butt. Then, when all your players were involved - your keeper was in the middle of it at one point iirc - then, and only then, he wanted to "continue the scrap".

    Highlights of the incident here:

    http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/qpr-1-norwich-2-motd/

Go to about 2:30 and see Norwich players not, in your words, "making a song and dance of it".<laugh>

As for the ref "making up his own mind" consider this. If he's "seen" Barton "intending to head butt" your hero why has he not whistled immediately? What would he have done for example if the play had broken differently after the incident and Barton gone on to score? Would the goal have then stood and Barton been sent off retrospectively? I would suggest that if the ref had seen anything play would have been stopped there and then. Your post is a nonsense. Whatever processes were going on yesterday the ref coming to his own decision over this wasn't one of them.

(And btw how am I not chatting friendly?)

a lot of Arsenal fans see this as "just deserts" for Barton getting Gervinho sent off earlier in the season.

We STILL don't know if there was contact or not. People have pointed out JB caught BJ with a swinging arm beforehand, he could be rubbing because of that. Who knows?

I still maintain I've seen a lot worse-this, unfortunately is normal practice in all matches. And QPR were alot worse in the second half so pot kettle black and all that. If your lot were lily White about it, you might have a leg to stand on

Oh, I see, you didn't read my post. This is exactly what I said, read it through again. The ref didn't see it, the linesman didn't, we don't know why it happened. It had nothing to do with this so-called cheating as the only conclusion at the moment is that the fourth official piped up. So get off our board, we've done the double and we'll take it in whatever form. You need to ask yourselves whether your manager and high risk players like JB are what you need to stay up, rather than always blaming referees

My point is that head pushing together happens so often and rarely is it punished. I think I'm more disappointed in consistancy. In the Arsenal Wolves game last week Song can punt two players in close succession and only get a booking then Miljas (sp?) gets a sending off for a nothing tackle. It's getting worse.

No. That was a sending off. Never raise your hands, it doesn't matter if Barton made a meal of it because Gervinho did slap him.

Warnock claimed if it had been the other way round, Joey wouldn't have made a meal of it. Suggestion in the Gervinho incident is, he most definitely would have. If he hadn't been such a pansy in the Gerinvho incident, Gerv wouldn't have been sent off.

Same thing applies here. One player makes a meal of it, and another one gets sent off. How do you differentiate between head-to-head contact and a headbutt? How much force is required for it to be one and not the other?

    Rough justice, but justice.
