This of course is not official, but after reading many sites...this could be our line up: ..........Westwood..... Bardo...Killa..O'Shea...Richo Larrson..Gardner..Catts..McLean ........Sess....Bendnter...... Why change a winning team? Mainly because you can't expect 2 midfielders to play full backs 2 games in a row. It may work 1 game, but why risk it a second. It seems Bardo was fit for the Man City match but O'Neill didn't want to risk it. Westwood and Richo are over their illness. Would you be happy with this?
I would stick with the winning team hoping initially confidence will overcome fatigue. If as you say however that Bardo, Ricco & Westwood are fit it certainly makes our bench look stronger.
Why drop Vaughan? I thought the lad was fantastic yesterday alongside Cattermole in the centre? I'd play exactly the same team (if all fit), with Killgallon in for Brown. The only other change might be to reward Ji with a start over Bendtner.
It depends who is fit and rested, it will be interesting to see if we can keep the team spirit going for ninety plus minutes against Wigan.
I reckon we'll make a lot of changes, anyway. We worked VERY hard for 90+ minutes and you could see how tired some were at the end. Baring that in mind I'd go with WESTWOOD BARDO O'SHEA KILLGALLON RICHARDSON ELMO GARDENER MEYLER SESS JI BENDTER/NOBLE
I would change it, especially if we get 2 fullbacks back in the squad, freshens up the team after playing a hard game 2 days ago and as fantastic as they were for Man City, Wigan should be a different game where we should be pushing on more so Richardson and Bardo will be better for this game.
As much as I agree with not changing a winning team, it may be wise to freshen things up slightly after such a high energy performance! If fit i'd bring Bardo in at full back, and i'd sacrafice Vaughan in the centre!
For the first time for a long time we seem to have a squad playing for each other and I think we can change things without affecting moral
Man City got a lot of shots off. It was one of those games where on another day, they could have had 2 or 3. Worked well on that particular day, but keeping those CMs just to maintain a 'winning team' could backfire spectacularly.
That is a different midfield pairing cappaz than what we played with yesterday! How would it backfire, no disrespect but wigan dont have nasri, silva, aguero, johnson, yaya in their team!
What ****ing warped twatful planet do you live on chappedarse? On another day Bendtner might have scored and so might sessegnon and unless you don't read papers, Ji did score and we won. The 2 lads you mention, Gardener and Colback won't have the same quality to deal with v Wigan either. Let's see how you do against the second best team in Manchester on Wednesday with a full team. Could it be your sourness is just a little sign your worried now? We might only be 6 points behind you by the time you play Utd and that's from being 15 points behind only 5 weeks ago.
No. I'm just saying the truth. Accept it or not, but on another day Man City could have scored 2, 3 or 4. I believe they hit the post twice, was it? It worked on the day, and the good defensive job did help limit Man City's clear-cut chances, but risking the same sort of defensive setup could backfire spectacularly on another day, even against Wigan. Despite the result, putting the experienced full backs back in will limit the chances of the opposition scoring. If you can't see that, or you wish to argue with me simply because I'm a mag, then you're just being a bit of a helmet.
Changes will be made .... fresh legs after such a physically draining match agaist Citeh. Still can't understand why SAFC have to play again after only 2 days ..... ... and yes, I know it's all about TV .... For example, Mags second game is after 5 days ... for Manu U it will be 4 days.... There should be a fairer way of spacing games out..
Agree completely. Vaughan has been a revalation when he's played this season. Cest has it spot on. No opinion on the forward issue, great goal but still not sold on Ji.
I just think you're a little **** stirring barcode knob chum and thus I treat as such. You've got more opinions on subjects no-one wants to hear about than a whole season of BBC Question Time. If you keep offering your opinions then I'll just keep on giving you **** about it. Okay? Like I give a ****e.
I still think Richardson is a liability. Hopefully the rumours he is off to Arsenal are true. Stick Bardo LB. I thought Gardner was heroic at RB, I know he doesn't like playing there. MON stuck him there a few times at Villa. But he is a pro and will do a job.
I can assure you that this was said in an extremely cold, calculated and measured way and not with any anger at all. Oh and by the way, just for future reference, you couldn't better me in an argument if your life depended on it chum.
