Tash, I tried reading this with an open mind but there's a few things that don't really add up:

1) You say Carroll was on 18k...Where did you get this figure? I'm pretty sure he was 30k, that's the figure that has been bandied about since he signed the contract, and also the figure used by the press.

2) Shearer DID turn down more money from Manure if I remember correctly! Granted we offered him a lot (and rewrote his contract to keep him as the highest earning player) but that was once he had been established as one of the best strikers in the world, as of yet Carroll hasn't!

3) Genuinely interested to hear this answer: Do you think we should give him another new contract PURELY 'cause another club has offered more money? (bearing in mind that would be 3 new contracts in the space of a year!) No-one is bigger than the club!

4) You say you don't buy the clubs bullshit, do you buy Carroll's bullshit? That he was 'forced to leave' despite having a legally binding contract which means that unless he breaks terms of that contract, no-one can push him!?!?

At the end of the day, everyone likes a pantomime villain and he is simply the new Wicked Witch! I would've had more time for him had he not tried to manipulate the fans, in turn stirring up ****e at the club he turned his back on (yes, i DO believe the club's bullshit)

 

Carroll had the opportunity to become what every Geordie would give his mother away for. He was told to wait till the summer to renegotiate his money. He was too stupid to do this and he listened to his agent. He will never be the same again. I cannot see him putting out for the bin lickers as he did for us. Unless the money is all he wanted and is totally for sale. With us he was putting out for family. Not now, they can't mean the same to him.

The thing that gets me with Tash current article is not the drivel itself, thats just the norm

its more the "i'm right and everyone should listen to me" tone of it
