I've got so much to say about that performance for all the right reasons, but I won't bore you to death with a long winded post! Fantastic result!

Great early finish from Dyer set us up, and we controlled the majority of the match, with and without the ball. Caulker and Ash were formidable. Great play from Routledge to tee up Graham and Wayne got his reward with a stunning left foot finish. Then we played the same way that we played against Everton/Newcastle, but this time we were defending a lead, not a point. And this time we actually played on the counter attack, and could have had more on the scoresheet! Perfect away performance, and let's hope that we can really kick on from here! BUZZING!

more of the same, just what the doctor ordered. team rotation works every time as we dont get stale and keeps all the players fresh and eager to do well when they play, all the players need a spell on the bench at some point to stop them thinking they are an automatic choice. great result that was fully deserved,,,

After these last 2 performances , anyone that comes through the door , high priced or not , will have to fight for minutes . Agustien is enshrining himself to that midfield spot .

best performance so far this season - Villa despite all their set pieces hardly troubled us. great start to the new year and with some tough games coming up its what we needed. Orlandi was the surprise package today but for me MOTM was Dyer - great to have him back on form he was awesome!

Attacking, pacy performance with players looking to get forward for the second game on the bounce (!) AWAY from home (!) Was a joy to watch...Dyer getting back to form, Orlandi looking like a new signing (had my reservations when i saw him in the starting lineup but very solid performance) and another clean sheet :) The only disappointment was that the scoreline wasn't more as we had the chances but i am just being picky

So many great performances. Kemy was superb as was Dyer. Danny never stopped battling and the back four were as solid as you like. Orlandi made a classy contribution and delighted for Routledge. Now that monkey is off his back let's hope he goes goal crazy. Liked the "cheeky" embrace Buck gave to Orlandi to thank him for his performance.

At 65 minutes we seemed to sit back and I thought, "Oh, no, here we go, Wolves all over again." Villa came at us as we sat deeper and deeper but this time we offered danger on the break and, although Villa racked up the possession and corner counts, the boys at the back were more than up for it and Villa never had a proper sniff of a goal other than that last gasp shot that cannoned off the post. Great, great performance and well done the lads!!!

One slightly discordant note - I wish that Vorm wasn't so obvious with his time wasting. Ref's don't like it and I have always contended that they tend to add on rather more seconds than were actually wasted as a sort of deterrent. By all means run the clock down when we need to but be a bit more sneaky about it.

MOTM Dyer 100%. Must say I was concerned to see Orlandi playing, but put in a great performance, as said like a new signing.

Buck looked like Orlandi 's motivating father welcoming him off the pitch . Rodgers's hard work with the squad is slowly starting to pay dividends . Give me a great manager with a good team rather than a good manager with a great team every time !!

My mate was at the game and he texted me to say he couldn't believe Orlandi was starting. I agreed. We were both wrong as he put in a good shift even if he does get muscled off too much for my liking. Agustien outstanding again as those of us who can spot a player knew from day one. Graham was dead on his feet at the end as his work rate was fantastic. Back line all looked solid, and Dyer - WOW! Just shows what leaving someone on the bench can do.

A victory for the team but for Rodgers more than anyone else who managed to keep a thinnish squad very fresh over the Christmas period. The home performance of the season has now been followed by the away performance of the season. Dreamland? You'd better believe it. <applause>
