Because we didn't have a multi-million pound team beforehand. You don't have to spend much bringing in new players when you already have fifteen top class ones at the club. We came up with Salif Diao, Richard Cresswell, Mama, and Leon Cort as established first-teamers. At the same time, Everton had Jagielka, Cahill, Pienaar, Baines, Lescott, Arteta, Johnson, and Neville. Of course we had to spend more.

I'm only a Tony Pulis "disciple" because he is good fr the club and we are doing extremely well.

If we were doing poorly then I can tell you I'd ask for his head on a plate.

As it stands we are doing well.

Potter I agree wholeheartedly mate that we needed to spend but again the point is being missed, it's been spent mainly on tat. With the exception of the few star players that now grace our beloved squad Pulis has wasted millions on players that could not perform at this level. To name Sidibe and Diao in our 25 man squad after 3 years in the prem again shows a lack of progress, they are championship at best. I'm not harping on about it anymore as I don't want to clash with fellow Stokie's but money has been wasted and we are still playing the same boring tactics 3 years on. If we all agreed upon everything then that would just not be life! Just one final observation though it's the old timers on the board that think we play crap football and the younger members that seem to be happy where we are so again that probably explains why we have differing opinions as us oldies remember we did actually play football!

Well put Waddo. I am no longer a regular attendee at the Brit so I am not forking out hard earned cash to watch them every other week like most of you (old and young).

Well what can I say as one of the younger posters on here <yikes>

Pulis is ingenious - just bought himself another 10 years as manager, by telling us all "this football club is a work in progree, we are not established blah blah blah and etc"

I really would like to know what PC thinks, if somebody had blown £100 million of MY money on that, I would be asking some serious questions!!

As said, it is not just the amount of money spent, its what it has been spent ON - that's the gripe.

I am not happy being disabled, but the bright side is that I just get to see Stoke on screen.

To actually watch that rubbish must be soul destroying!!

The good old days were just that, these days should be the GOOD NEW days, but they are not.

If mankind, and I will include us Stokies had managed our expectations and limitations, we would not have landed on the moon, would not have MRI scanners and a huge range of beneficial inventions.

Plus of course the Internet and Forums to complain on!!!

As an outsider I am not one of those fans who have a go at your style of play when we don't get a result against you. I actually find it amusing the way you frustrate teams, especially when you play any of Liverpool's rivals. I have a lot of respect for Stoke for playing their own style, but I do not pay to watch you every week so I guess there is more to it than just the results. Looking forward to you visit to Anfield this month. <ok>

Finished 2-1, we beat the team at their stadium that beat United at Old Trafford.

Therefore I decree that Stoke are better than United :D

Well, my missus is in the process of making a pie for my tea this evening. It's not humble pie but it might taste like it. Well done the lads. We nearly gave it away towards the end I read but 3 pts is great because I honestly believed we could have struggled today. HAPPY NEW YEAR. Who would be a footy supporter? Wait a minute..... we are!! :):)

Before we conceded, we were playing some mesmerizing football in the second half, it would have made Arsenal blush.

    Ryan Shotton is absolutely brilliant!

    Waddo
    KEEP posting <laugh>
I was watching the game live on stream and I must say, some of the footie we played was supurb. We hung on in there the last few mins and WELL DONE Tony and the lads. SHOTTON was brilliant as was Peter Crouch. YOU Legend two fantastic goals and HUMBLE pie tastes wonderful.

This is a massive win because all those around us WON. And even better Arsenal have lost<laugh>. Does it get any better? of course it can. To see how HAPPY Crouch was at the final whistle shows just how much he's enjoying life with the Mighty Potters. WHY do we ever doubt Tony Pulis I do not know. Tactically he again had it bang on the money.
HAPPY NEW Year to you all.
