Not bad, but it's not hard to look good when your playing Scottish football.

He looks good but anyone can look good on youtube and like you say Scottish football is terrible. The quality of the Old Firm game the other night was shocking.

He does have the ability to play on either wing and some pace, which is something we have been lacking.

I would rather give Puncheon another chance then have some average Scottish player.

A season ago Hearts were rejecting 5mil+ but know hes finding it hard to get back into the team. If hes going cheap i reckon NA would get him back to his best and fulfill his potential.

I'm a fan of Puncheon but I think he's burnt his bridges, shame.

Guys and gals, are we getting above ourselves? We are top of the league, however this is above are initial expectations. Sure we want to stay there and get promoted, but we are doing really well and this lofty position actually allows us some time.

If this lad needs time, then great, bring him in. We still have Lambert, Guly, Connolly, lallanna, barney (when back) and i feel that now is a great time Now if we were 2nd from bottom with 8 games to go, then we wouldn't have time.

Let's not get above ourselves just yet.

When we signed Fox a lot of people were questioning why we signed another left-back, so why on Earth would we be in for Ridgewell - a CB/LB? We have Hooiveld/Seaborne/Harding/Fox/Dickson as our left-footed defensive players so I really don't see Ridgewell happening. He is a good player though. I think Tadanari Lee looks likely to join, which I'm excited about as we are crying out for another striker. Could spell the end for Forte (if the writing wasn't on the wall already).

Andrew Driver is an interesting one - after the buzz around him last year linking him with lesser Premier League clubs and the hoo-hah with his international eligibility I've not really heard much of him. Would he improve much on Lallana/De Ridder (our two best wingers imo)?

Who else do you think could leave Saints this month? Other than Forte I can't think of anyone; Lee Holmes seems to play at least some part in Nige's plans when fit and I don't think the gaffer would want to sell too many players and break up team spirit.

    Why?

I really don't understand the desire that it must be an English striker/player. The nationality doesn't really decide if the player will settle quickly or not. If his attitude is good and he works hard, then anyone can settle easily.

The more important issue in terms of a player settling in at a new club is whether or not he gets a lucky bobble and sticks one in after 5 minutes of his first game - he'll settle quickly then.

Errrr no he didn't. If you're basing your opinion of him on something that literally never happened then it somewhat damages your credibility.

If NA feels he offers something we're lacking in, then sign him. Simple.

An English striker? Like who? The likes of Maynard and Sharp are all okay but they are as unknown in the Premier League as Lee is. It's not even the experience of 'English football' that can make a difference - Jay Bothroyd is pony in the Prem and tbh I think Maynard would be as well. You'd be overpaying hugely for an average player with a big ego - Lee will probably cost less than £1m and will undoubtedly have better work ethic than any English striker on the market at present.

I understand frustration when teams buy very average/poor foreign players instead of looking for English talent (Alcaraz, Riveros, Keinan, Elmander etc) but Lee is a very good prospect and his nationality comes with many benefits that other players couldn't offer.

I see Ridgewell as more of a centre back, other than Hooiveld and Fonte we are lacking a little bit in the middle. Jaidi is to slow, Seaborne is not good enough and I don't think Martin is quite ready yet to play on a regular basis. Another centre back would make sense although I can't see us signing Ridgewell.

I don't know a great deal about Driver but a fast left footed winger would give us a new option.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dickson leave in this transfer window as he doesn't seem to fit in with Adkins plans. He is behind Fox, Harding and we also have the youngster Luke Shaw coming through so he doesn't seem to have much of a future here.

    Totally agree

He may take a few games to get used to the physical side of the English game but if he's good enough he would be fine.

Apolagies, my mistake it seems he was only linked with them however I don't think he is an improvement on de ridder or Lallana.

Everyone saying they don't want Driver as he plays in a crap Scottish league, Hooiveld couldn't get into Celtic's team and people wrote him off before he'd kicked a ball and hes been brilliant. I won't judge any player who signs until they play for us regularly and I trust NA to get the right players in.
