I had the best day that I have had for so long, I sat after the game until the stadium was nearly empty, just sitting with a daft smile on my face. I saw some top footballers today in the blue shirts of City, they gave their all and by god can they play football and how I enjoyed it. I saw a collection of highly paid footballers in Red and White shirts, they palyed for that shirt today not for the money. I saw a team that had a plan and stuck to it. I saw a set of City fans who sang their hearts out. A set of Sunderland fans who made the stadium rock. And to top it all I saw us win with he last kick of the ball from a man called Ji. It was worth all the crap of days gone by and the cost of my season ticket just to be there today. I had a good day.
Great is it. We have done it before, remember the 73 cup run when they had real players not modern posers. Believe in the impossible any thing can happen in football. I have played in similar situations
I missed the match, had to watch my sister in the Xmas panto! I got the news walking back to the car, I looked a right wally cheering and girning through town!
Spot on Syd what a brilliant day, it demonstrates the value of a quality manager who can lift players; but Martin O'Neill is more than that, he has game plans which are tactically astute but can change depending on the circumstances/opposition. I just wished he was here three year ago and had the 90 million that Bruce had to spend.
After a drab nil nil vs a poor side on a freezing February night I will probably question the sanity of renewing yr after yr...... But today has given me a memory I can always call on if I'm ever in doubt.
New year new feeling. With work I missed our three home wins in 2011, so it is over a yer since I have left the SOL having seen the lads win! Lets have more of this. Lets remember in 2010 I think we only lost one home game can 2012 be as good?
on a side note... how many lives do man utd have.. it seems every time they drop points their title rivals all do the same. its annoying grrr. i really want city to win the title this year.. i think it could destroy united if they fully fall behind city. ive been waiting a long time for them bastards to fall lol. but it constantly works out for them
The only downside today was the fact that our win helps Man Utd. I'd love to see City go on to win the league and I still think they will.
Given time and a bit of cash to spend, martin oneill should get you back in the top 8 soon enough We were outcoached today
I have to say that its easy to lable your lot as highly paid prima donnas but on a cold day at the SoL they worked hard and looked like very good footballers with a good attitude to me.
Syd, I think you shared that moment with many, many thousands. It's not just the ones we know well, in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Canada, the U.S.A., Holland, Norway or the Czech Republic. What about our new friends out in Ghana, and how are Dong-won's many young fans in South Korea feeling right now? It's been a long god-awful 2011 for everyone. But today those players said Happy New Year to the world! I hope they understand it. Hey, I haven't grinned like this since the Chelsea game fourteen months ago.
Rub it in syd. I had an afternoon gig I couldn't afford to get out of so couldn't get their. I'm thinking, for the good of the team, of not going back as I've only missed 2 home games this season, yesterday and the Stoke game! That said, I did watch the match at home (gig was local) prior to starting my gig and was absolutely delighted and the roof nearly came off the house when Ji scored so I can only imagine what it was like at the stadium
