I would've thought that Beattie would not be coming back, taking into account his lack of games and just generally how slow he is..... I only decided today but, I'll be heading off to Pompey by car with my dad and brother Never actually been to Portsmouth and we're in good form..so it should be a good day out Guess I could just find out when I'm there but.....anyone know the best place to park?
If you are early enough you can usually find a space in one of the local roads - but one of the best places to park if you don't mind paying a small charge is at Fratton rail station - just 5 mins away. If you do find a space behind the Shepherds Crook pub you will probably also find lots of other Watford fans having a drink there.
Probably won't be getting there too early to be honest, so I doubt the local roads or pub will have a space. Thanks for the tip though, will probably go with the rail station. Hopefully by "small charge" you mean closer to £5 than £10
Myself and John Eustace's teeth! Will be at the game tomorrow.. I'm predicting 2-1 to the horns... Also hello to all not 606 Watford users!!!
Welcome NW Hornette. Its nice to see the ladies joining in. Its nice to have a balance on here. I will say 1-3 simply cos Scordell will want to get the new year off to a BANG!!! and Noz and Kightly getting the others as a farewell to our beloved club.
I wouldn't advise local roads! Very much like west Watford, but worse! And I believe there are more parking restrictions around now. Not really sure where you could park. Don't think there's much parking at Fratton station either, all I can remember is the roundabout! Sorry I'm not being very helpful!
I probably won't get up for this one, baring earth shakes or Miss NZ's teeth. I still haven't got over a trip I made to Portsmouth with the official coach in the early 70s. It rained, we got stuffed 5-0 (Trebilcock scored a hat-trick I think) and on the way back there was a vote to stop at a pub half way home. As I was about thirteen I had to sit in the garden of the pub for 2 hours as the coach driver wouldn't let my mate and me sit in the coach. No-one offered to get us a soft drink and crisps. I do not have happy memories of Portsmouth.
