Now here's a funny thing. I was going through how much Spurs have paid for their current squad and I came to the conclusion that our first choice starting XI actually cost less to assemble than our second choice XI... please log in to view this image ...I also added the players on our books who I don't think would be in the two starting XIs. Strange to think that our first choice XI cost significantly less than Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres.
Bentley 17 million! hard to believe, not quite as over the top as Torres (or nowhere near as over the top) perhaps even worse than paying 16 million for Bent. Another few reasons to be grateful that Harry is in charge with Levy holding the purse strings.
Bentley was £15m with a possible £2m in add-ons, if I remember right. Much better! Didn't Naughton and Walker cost a combined £8m? £4m + £6m seems a little steep, especially as Walker was always seen as the bigger prospect. Looked like Naughton had a decent game at left-back for Norwich yesterday though, so he might be worth keeping. If we ship out Corluka in the summer, then we'd have competition and back-up for Walker and BAE.
Hopefully not, but it'd be nice to have some competent emergency cover for left-back. Rose could do with a loan out to get used to playing there, I think.
Good shout PNP Benny gets a load of unjustified criticism on this board, but is one of the unsung stars of this impressive team. He is virtually ever-present, so if the occasional error slips in then it is probably because he is overplayed. The LB role in the current line up is hardly static!! Haven't seen the mileage stats for a while ( last I saw had Crouchy at the top) but guessing that BAE and Walker cover some serious ground.
The bar of chocolate I just ate cost 50p, precisely 100,000,000 times cheaper than Mr.Torres. And let me tell you, it was in much finer form!
Wow... I doubt any other team in the league has that sort of stat Just shows though that money isn't always the key to success.
