If they had won today then there would be less pressure in winning on Tuesday, now they need to win or they could be overtaken by Man u. This is possible the worst out come for us.
I agree. But oh well you have to beat the best to get anywhere. We are no pushovers and will be boyed by our result and Gerrard too.
Gerrard wont start, it would be silly for him to start. Main focus Tuesday is Spearings performance, if he isn't up to scratch then it could be 2-0 or 3-0.
I disagree for 2 reasons: 1) any defeat plays on players minds, and of it's still even late in the match (which isnt impossible given how well our defence are playing) they'll feel the pressure with the home crowd 2) they were forced to bring on players (Silva and Aguero) that they wanted to rest - so they won't be as fresh It's hard to turn around physically and mentally after only 2 days; I think were in with a good chance...
Anyone else just suddenly got really excited about this game? I feel like a little school girl at Justin beaver concert. For **** sake Chris get the match thread up!!
Pus we tend to play worse (not score) against teams who turn up and park the bus, hence drawing 6/9 at Anfield. If they come at us, maybe we'll find more space and better opportunities to score.
We have gained 3 points on City this weekend, if we beat them that is technically 6 points, so 9 points all together! This year may be our year after all!
I love the phrase "charge the top of the table"....Aren't Arsenal the team that usually charge DOWN the table after xmas I think this result isn't too relevant to us because if we don't play well even a poor City performance will be enough to scrape a win. It's up to us how we cope with them, play to our best (and get a bit of luck) and we can beat anyone in the league
Expect Arsenal to do well between now and late February. Then there will be all this **** about 'they had their worst start to a season for x amount of years, but now they may even win the league', and then they'll collapse like always...

If we beat city on tuesday night,(which were more than capable of) it could put Man u top by Wed. night but we have to concentrate on our own situation.Three points closer after an incredible weekend's footy, any more slip ups from the top two and they won't just be looking over their shoulders at spurs.A long way to go and really looking forward to the city game,it's set up beautifully!
This is silly, you don't know how it's going to effect them until after the game. It could be good as it could dent their confidence, Mancini may make a rash decision, extra training which forces fatigue / injury. Or on the other hand it could get them really fired up for the game & even more determined to win. If they had won, it may have been good as they wouldn't have needed to win to stay ahead of United. However on the other hand, it might have been bad as they would have wanted to keep a winning run going and they could have rested their star players rather than having to bring them on. Can easily look at it from both sides of the fence. If we win then it was a brilliant result today. If we lose, then it may have been a bad one today.
