I am thinking this signing is a bit of a joke by Wenger, trying to pull a big Sam here I think.

What Can Henry offer realistically? Fits Wenger's fiscal jigsaw but he'd begun to fade before he left arsenal and he's far older and slower now.

Would it not have been better to sign or borrow a young striker or give one of his wonderful Wonderful cheap young player a shot I mean we keep hearing about POtential so where are these great up and coming arsenal youngsters that they have to sign Henry back?

I've been thinking the same to be honest, still no wiser to an answer.

    Perhaps, we'll be surprised...

His signing will piss off the likes of Chamakh that's for sure.

    It's his and Gervinho's fault they're signing him <laugh>

I think it's a good signing for them, it will give some of their player's and all of their fan's a lift, similar to when Rafa brought Fowler back to us.

Experience and inspiration. But I don't see it as that big a deal.

Think he'll be fine. Better than the other toss they have up front (bar VP).

From what I have been told yes. Still scoring quite a few, although he's lot the pace.

It's nice to see him just playing again really. Quite like the bloke!

It's certainly no where near as bad as bringing Lehman out of retirement.

Inspiration like said. Someone to lift the team. Chamakh is likely to leave and Gervinho is going to the African Cup of Nations (Although, his decision making on the pitch is awful).

Experience and cover. He will play as a left sided forward in place of Gervinho while he is at the African Nations Cup, much like the role Henry played at Barcelona before he went to New York and Barca then went and signed David Villa. Henry will get more goals from that position than Gervinho has and I'd see his signing as a 'low risk' one in as much as he knows the club and the manager and can slot straight in the team. Some people seem to think that him playing would upset the dynamic but both Arsenal and Henry have moved on since he was last playing for them, Van Persie is the main man at the club now in playing terms and that won't be changing by Henry coming back for a couple of months. It is similar to when Man United brought in Henrik Larsson on loan in the 2006/07 season. He only scored 1 goal while he was on loan, but having him around helped lift other players' performances.

Na he was younger mate and in good form for City. Henry is older and in a much lower league.

It's a decent option off the bench if Arsenal need a goal. And like everyone else has said, it's cover for Gervinho when he goes to the African Cup Of Nations.

Can I see him making a significant impact?

He'll probably get a couple of goals when Arsenal are winning games comfortably but I can't see him making a massive impact. (Changing the course of some important games etc.)
