I see you have already sussed the situation. Apologies for not getting the news to you sooner. Following a dispute with site management, our much loved leader, Northolt, has decided to leave the not606 site and therefore also the QPR Board that he has worked so hard to set-up and maintain since March 2011. I received the news at close of play on Friday 23 December. I had no idea what was going on in the background - and to some extent, still donât as it doesnât involve me or the rest of us. Whilst I have been wondering from the outset how long our Northolt could continue all that daily graft and all those informative postings (he must have got through a considerable amount of reading every day), I cannot deny how shocked I was to hear of his decision, as I know you will be too. Northolt did leave a forwarding address for me, and I have been in regular contact with him over the past few days, imploring him to return to the fold in one way or another. At the moment, whilst ever caring and responsive, North is having none of it. Given his input to both site and board, he expected a little more from site management than they were willing to offer. Whilst grateful, he is equally uninterested in my offer to mediate in what has been a largely personal dispute with management. As part of our exchanges, I have left him in no doubt of our gratitude for his efforts and also made him aware of the unanimous virtual Lifetime Achievement award bestowed upon him by our membership. In his typically laconic style, Northoltâs response was: âSay I said thanks, and I think HammersmithBlueZzzz was robbed! â Letâs just hope Northolt realises his value and sees fit to come back when heâs ready. What happens now is largely up to you all. It has to be said that the real success of this QPR Board has little to do with Northolt or me - and everything to do with you the members. Were it not for your continuing interest, contributions and general interactions, there wouldnât be a QPR Board, much less one as successful as is. I am happy to continue as moderator for the time being - if thatâs okay with you. However, as you well know, Iâm no Northolt. I canât be around every day but will give an eye on a regular basis without necessarily always commenting. My main aim would be to oversee things to ensure the QPR Board remains as relevant and interesting as it has become. Light touch moderating is the only way as far as many of us are concerned. If thereâs something you feel I should attend to, please just PM me with details. I think thatâs pretty much all I can say for the moment. I will leave the rest to your own reactions to this disappointing development. With a new year already in in the east and fast approaching us in the west, I wish you all, the club - and particularly our esteemed leader and founder member Northolt-QPR - a slightly forlorn but otherwise Happy New Year! I know glasses will be raised as much to Northolt as to the club on this occasion. Cheers All!!! BrixtonR I had asked that Northoltâs position as moderator be left open to him in the hope of a return. Whilst site management originally agreed to my request, itâs clear from the recent removal of his status, that they have decided otherwise.
Hi Brixton, Really sorry to hear about this, I had always got on with Northolt, and found him to be a top bloke. He and I had agreed that he would provide the matchday coverage for this fixture, however given the situation would you like me to write a cross board match thread? All the best, CS.
Sad news. Northolt has put so much of his time into the QPR board and this is sad news for this board of yours.
It had to be something like this, ****! Felt all was not well as Northolt never shades away from the biz, that be QPR. Very sad news, I know it's in the best of hands with Brix but you'll be sorely missed North, always got on well with you. But as I know you'll be reading this, hope you'll be back in some shape or form. Maybe the new "CernyBerny"? Good luck in the future and have a happy new year North. You R's!
I was very sorry to hear from him a while back that he was going. I know i'm not a QPR fan, and hope you don't mind the invasion, but Northolt is a very decent bloke, and i've enjoyed chatting with him, and having a brief meeting with him at the Watford v QPR game, memorable for most of you i should think (the game, not me and Northolt meeting up ) Norway, i have to say that i very much doubt that Northolt will see this thread, as i sent him a link to your thread about awards because it was so complimentary for him, and he decided not to read it... It's very sad for not606, and from the sentiments above, it doesn't surprise me to see that it's very sad for your board as well. Maybe one day he'll come back, though it doesn't sound like it, sadly. While i can, i wish you the best of the season, and for the season...good luck QPR, i hope things start looking up for you soon Happy new year.
North! Don't know what it is with "Site management", but hell its hard for me to understand that can be so big an issue? Hope soon you come to the conclusion that there are ways to resolve the problem and come back. Sh*t, if its swearing with * we can cut that out and if.... so on... You are a star like Adel and like him, and are best off with us and not on a 220 bus! Hope very much you come back even just as a member like the rest of us.
I'm gutted tbh. He really worked at this place from day one, advertised it on the old 606 board and made it what it is. As I've said previous it's the first place I come to for news on Rangers. I hope this can be resolved. Can we petition "site management"?
I fear this is starting to get out of hand, Northolt was not asked to leave or give up being a mod and is welcome back any time. His mod status was removed because it cant just stay there but it can be reinstated at any time. It was his choice to leave and its his if he wants to come back. I have no problem with Northolt and neither does Mick, he was a good mod on here and I can only repeat he is welcome back, his account is still open.
We don't know what happened...but Northy was good and we the QPRboard want him back....independent of who decided it was time to go. Northy please come back
Bit of a surprise and a real shame as northy was the motivational source for 90% of us migrating from the old bbc606. Life as always will go on but this forum will undoubtably miss northolts enthusiasm and excellent moderation. It's a a real pity that apparantly petty disputes always ruin a good thing. I doubt from the comments above that northy is reading any of this but if he is then good luck mate and if you're at the toon or mk away games get in touch and I'll stand you a pie and a pint
Hmm, politics, people and stress. So sorry to hear this news Northolt. Sensible Mod,fair and well informed. I sincerely hope you are able to make it back though this has the feeling of an irrevocable decision. Good luck, mate.
For once Cerny...I'm with you! Bye the way, I tried to PM Northolt but his inbox is full, so he doesn't appear to be using his account at all!
