The guy is the worlds largest single cell creature. They should chop him up and put him in the pies, we could solve the third world famine crisis on the fat bastard. Sadly however the pies would taste like **** as that is what he is full of.
I think Burns went for a bowel movement, whilst Swann sounded as if he had a gone for several swift ones.
The bloke next to me at today's game seemed to have some bowel issues. Though he didn't fart about as much as our keeper. Boom, boom....
The problem is we knew we needed a goalscorer in the summer this could have all being sorted. But we didn't did we. I don't think we can blame this on Barmby i think he knows we need someone to get some goals.
Adam Le Fondre 5 goals in 15 games for Reading, signed for 400 grand right under our noses. Emile Sinclair 6 goals in 15 games for Peterborough signed for an undisclosed fee, cant have been much. Signed after banging in 2 against us. At those prices we should have taken a punt.
Agree with this fully. McLean gets enough criticism but IMO Fryatt is no better. Neither can be relied on in front of goal and neither really create chances either. Agree with this too. They have a load of good strikers we could do with. Hope we do get Vokes.
Is Vokes mobile enough to fit in the 4-2-3-1 system though? I rate him but is he what we need? Not for me.
Not a clue. When we sign these players that I know very little about, I tend to just trust the management and hope for the best. I'm sure NB has singled him out for a reason.
Jesus Christ, McLean is getting stick yet today he Played as a winger or in the hole at best, fryatt is getting stick yet he cut a forlorn figure upfront alone. We are playing a 4-4-1-1 system to accommodate Koren (rightly so) but today it didn't work. We can blame the strikers all we like, but today Cam Stewart looked liked he couldn't give a toss, McKenna could pass more than 5 yards accurately and the normaly wonderful Koren wasted 3 or 4 gilt edged chances. When will we learn? If we don't create chances even the best striker cannot score!!
I agree with most of that but we have said for long enough Mclean isn't a winger its time to stop him playing there. One thing i really disagree with you on is Mckenna, had another very good game for me.
We continue to turn over strikers but never find a goal scorer. Fryatt used to score but not with city as did McClean Why is that? Our midfield is good so I guess it's about the blend between midfield and forwards. Not sure you'll fix that by throwing money at yet another striker iny view. I'd spend on creating more chances myself. Not sure that even Deano would score in this team.....
I disagree with that completely. Tbf to Fryatt and Mclean neither had many chances Mclean had one which him and Stewart collided for. Fryatt was in the box once and decided to dance around with it at his feet instead of just getting a shot away. Hobbs had a glorious chance, and Koren had a couple. Chances are being created we are just not finishing them. I like Fryatt i really do but if we want promotion the strike force is not good enough.
McKenna has been a revelation in the last two months, however both he and Evans struggled to control the passing and tempo as they have recently. We normally create our chances by moving the ball quickly by it just didn't happen yesterday. I think burnley played a high line and pressed the midfield well and as a result we struggled. The only time fryatt got the ball to his feet was by coming really short for it and then there's no threat as it leaves no one upfront. We need an effective plan B, because plan A didn't work today. The bench offered nothing in reality, Brady took over where Stewart left off (ie doing little) and Garcia was just another winger come striker without good service. I'm hoping January brings us an effective target man, forget Billy Sharp, he won't score without service either!
The other major point is goals from elsewhere in the team just aren't forthcoming, where the 5 goal a season central defender (like Cort, Turner or even Gerrard?!), where's the goals from central midfield? Taking Koren out (who's not really a midfielder the way we currently play him) and is it one goal from central midfield (Evans vs Cov?!). Everyone needs to weigh in, think back to the 2008 play off year, we had goals everywhere.
That's why we need another striker in January to come off the bench in place if one of the attacking three and we can go 442 and pull their centre halves around a bit.
