It was a bad tackle and he should have been sent off. However Spearing got what he deserved for sliding in with excessive force so I think the referee rightly let Cabaye off with it because Spearing dived in stupidly in the first place.

Not the 1st time Spearing has gone in like that either, was very similar to the tackle he was sent off for against Fulham earlier this month.

Yes Cabaye should have gone in harder and used the same force as that rat Spearing did you twat.

Ok it was a bad tackle but why are people talking about leg breaks??? Unless Spearing's bones were made of spaghetti there's no way a simple stamp will break his leg ... Maybe he'll get a twisted ankle but nothing worse ...

Anybody who thinks Cabaye's tackle was with intent is stupid, it was unfortunate, that's all. He jumped out of the way of Spearing to avoid being clattered and unfortunately landed on his leg, these things happen. Sky showing it all in slow motion is just trying to make it look worse so they have a talking point, it was nothing, not a red card, not a foul. Some idiots on here like.

Ok fair point - I was just replying to the guy saying he should of gone in harder. I'm personally all for the old 'get stuck in' style of play. But when someone wishes someone stamped harder they're simply showing themselves to be a twat.

The tackle was bad, but don't think he is generally that type of player, ref saw it so thankfully he can't get banned. <doh> Mike Williamson incident last year.

You mean like that body check that Bendtner did to one of our players the following week and **** all happened?

Can't disagree with you. I have no problem with players trying to hurt (not seriously) each other as long as they win the ball. Cabaye didn't an it was a very bad challenge. Should have been at least a yellow

He didn't contest the ball fairly. Its like saying if someone elbows you in the face challenging for a header "Well, its a contact sport you should expect things like that, and if you hadn't challenged for the ball in the air that wouldn't have happened"

So Spearing going in with excessive force was contesting fairly then?

He got all of the ball and none of the man, what exactly is the problem with that?

His studs were pointing toward the ground and he was going solely for the ball. Obviously Cabaye is one of them players who's too pussy to go into a tackle, fair enough, I won't judge him, but to leave his foot in like a ****house? That's not on man. He's probably not that type of player, he did it without thinking, but its still a terrible challenge. Much worse than the De Jong tackle on Ben Arfa, for example.

Cabaye is hardly too pussy to go in for challenges, if you've watched him this season you'll know that. However, it's nowhere near as bad as some of your lot are making out. I've already seen worse than that this season with no card shown. To me, it looked like Cabaye tried to jump out of the way, but Spearing's follow through got in the way. That's my opinion however.

Let's be honest here. Cabaye's challenge was pretty dangerous. It happened in the moment and I don't think Cabaye went out to injure Spearing, although only he really knows. Could have easily seen red and I wouldn't really have complained too much if he had.

I don't believe it was intentional but when both feet leave the ground going into a tackle you're asking for trouble

Both feet never went in for the tackle though! One was clearly no where near.

If both feet leave the ground you're deemed no longer to be in control... it's not about both feet contacting.

Could have went either way judging by that, lucky Spearing was quick.
