Yeah. Just remembered why he frustrated me so much. Basically a good player with a great brain but who's ability doesn't match his brain.
keep the faith.there is still hope (but I'm glad we've not got Mooney's finishing skills to contend with!)
All things considered tonight's experience might do us more good than harm. I'm sitting here really deflated both by the fact of our defeat and the nature of it. But let's get a couple of things straight: one, we are not going to win this league by 15 points so tonight was a wake up call about our limitations. Two. The closing pack are separated by a whisper in terms of quality so we will need to scrap for anything we get. To be honest we have ridden our luck in recent weeks ant tonight was coming. So how we react will be the measure of our season. All I can say with certainty is that the first half of this season has been an unexpected joy ride. Had you told me in August that we'd be 4 points clear on new years day with 51 points in the bag I'd have bitten your hand off (after I'd spent ten minutes rolling around the floor laughing). So well done lads and thanks for the fun. Sleeves rolled up and onwards we go. Happy new year to all. COYR
I wouldn't quite call us sh1te. Obviously the game plan was seriously disrupted after 6 minutes with Kermi having to drop back into mid-field. I also think Waggy should have not been the one to be sacrificed, he's one who really relishes a scrap, backs-to-the-wall and all that. I thought Russell would have come off. We couldn't do our normal pass and run because we had 84 minutes to conserve energy but once we went for it in the last 10 minutes the passing and movement returned. Too much hoofing earlier on - but understandable. I really thought, in the final 10 minutes, we'd not only equalise but also go on and win in time added.
Main worry about tonight was 10 men for 84 minutes could leave a lot of guys knackered for Monday. Hope it's not a double whammy.
Yep Let's see how the reaction goes. If we had to lose one out of the four matches (Orient, Brentford, Wednesday, Sheffield), this was the match to choose. Not that it's good to lose any match, or that losing this means we won't lose one of the others.
Two defeats so far this season, both 1-0, both to deflected goals. Poor performance, even if it was 90mins with 10 men, but these things happen. Onwards and upwards. Thought Pritchard looked good when he came on. For anyone in the mood, Owlstalk is right entertaining.
Just got back on dlr what can I say shocking display by bwp I sell him he seems no longer up for it im hundread per cent sure a club has tapped him up why playing so poorly.what was going on at back of stand when the lisbie chant happened some bloke started shouting at his own fans
Chris Solly - My MoM - total class. Russell - shouldn't pull a Charlton shirt on again, inept, ineffective, invisible - bye bye... Wagstaff - right to be frustrated at being substituted - should have been Russell Bradley Pritchard - lovely cameo - but why was it only a cameo? Charlton Crowd - 10/10 - fierce racket all game, never stopped singing, brilliant atmosphere. Orient organisation - absolute total shambles - you shouldn't have to queue for 15 minutes when you've already got a ticket. COYR!
A couple of things to point out is that we were bound to lose at some time - just a bit peeved that we played so poorly, and didnt give their keeper 1 shot to save all game. BWP just doesnt look interested, and the midfield was non-existent - Orient were first to every second ball. A positive note is that we have 51 points at half way - if we carry on like that, then we'll get 102 points - that'll do nicely , thank you ! Another positive is that we have played 13 games away and 10 at home, whereas with Sheff U its the other way around - therefore we have 3 more games at home than them in the 2nd half of the season. A poor performance yes, but we were maybe due one.
BTW, Solly or Wiggins as MOM - odd that it was only those 2 that had shots on goal the whole game too.
stu what did u think about bwp performance very poor i thourght i never seen a player so bad all game do u know what has gone wrong with bwp his head is clearly not interested in playing for cafc i dont know if hes had a bust up with cp or a bid has coe in for him would u drop him next match ?
Solly - outstanding. Kermorgant - outstanding. He is more important to us than BWP. Really feel for Wagstaff, his one chance and he didn't even get to touch the ball. Given that we looked better when Pritchard came on I'd say Powell made the wrong change (by taking Waggy off). BWP is on a poor run - all strikers have them. If Clarke comes in then hopefully that will spark him off again. I don't think Russell is quite as bad as Tewkes does, but he's still not great. Hughes wouldn't have let their midfield run the game as they did. Not as disappointed as I might be tonight - Brentford will be difficult but it gives us a chance to get tonight out of our systems
