Ok,maybe Wenger should look at actually developing players from the academy and not steal them from other clubs.

I'm sure Wenger would like to have a 3 year window where he focusses exclusively on rearing academy players into premier lge talent, the problem is that the fans demand immediate success and will not suffer transition (mid table mediocrity) and the financial rewards of not being a top 4/5 club are scary, not just Champions Lge income but sponsors, advertising, Sky revenue etc.

PNE - good point re youngsters, what tends to happen is that schools can only teach/coach to a certain level, most talented 10 year olds are more tactically aware than your average school teacher. The boys are then left to the clubs to develop their skills but the Nanny state we live in prevents them from spending any realy time training/practising, there's a bunch of 18 stone gin slinging pen pushers who fear burn out at an early age so prevent more than an hour or so a week with clubs

Look at Southampton, the players that we've produced have had quite a good level of technical skill.Le Tissier,Walcott,Bale,Alex Chamberlain,Adam Lallana. Now we've got a great bunch of youngsters from our u18's which has been dubbed as our golden generation(don't tell Wenger)haha

Please ignore adam. Just to bump this thread again, he's definitely physically ready league 1 is a far more physically demanding league its very kick and rush with big tackles and BIG players. Have you seen the boy as well? He's a tank and so quick as well, give him a go soon he'll change games for you.

Bentley, Thomas, Cole, Wilshere - all Premier League developed by Arsenal I believe.

Perhaps Arshavin is being played to put him in the shop window ahead of a January transfer? After that Oxo is more likely to get his chance.

Why?I was just pointing out that Wenger should develop his own academy that's all.

I think with all the hype over OXO wenger doesn't want him to be like Theo and have to much pressure, so by keeping him out completly for a while he still learns from training etc, but people forget about him and the pressure dies down!

Because they have a quality youth academy and if your still bitter about oxo then you need to grow up, Wilshere will grow up to be one of the greatest players to walk this earth.

You signed Bale at the age of 16, the same age we signed Fabregas. So why are we not allowed to 'claim' Fabregas as our own produced player but you can 'claim' Bale? Just because one came from another country... it doesn't really make much sense.
Who gets the credit for developing these players? Their parents for encouraging them at a young age? Their first team? The school they played at for nurturing them?

Sorry but we had bale on our radar and training with us from the age of nine he signed his proffesional contract and debuted at 16 which is where you might be getting mixed up, I credit you guys with fabregas though, wouldn't be the player he is if he had come up through barca's youth academy I believe they didn't want him so he would have been cast out!

The lad is fit as a fiddle and built like a tank. He spent a year in league 1 with defenders throwiing themselves at him. His physicality isn't an issue.

Arsenal wouldn't have paid £15m for him if they didn't think he was good enough. The sort of player who might be good enough in a few years, English or otherwise, costs a whole lot less.

My guess is that Arshavin is on quite a fat contract and they want to put him in the shop window as they can't afford to let him rot in the reserves.

Bale was from our Satellite club Bath,so we didn't steal him.Just like when we took Adam Lallana from Bournemouth(another satellite club) and Aaron Martin from Eastleigh.
You need to do some research before in the future xx.

I'm not bitter,I just find it stupid that they pay £12M for a player that doesn't play.
