"Win or a draw I'll take 'em all" about sums it up for me. The lads are working hard, they are not finding it easy but (for now) we are off the bottom. If we can get a win at home and a draw away we won't go far wrong. Fletcher is doing an ok job with what he has to work with, proving myself and others wrong - I don't mind being wrong in some cases. Well done Cole on saving the penalty and earning us a point!
The only thing that bothered me was the bookings. We committed 11 fouls in total and incurred 4 yellows. Aldershot committed 16 fouls and only got two yellows. I think we should ask them how their players manage to get away with it. Get some tips. Otherwise, yes, very happy with a point. If only Swindon could beat Northampton...
Can't really afford to give too many points away as teams around us going well also. The next month or so will tell!
Jake Cole is starting to earn his place in the team............Larrieu doesn't save penalties...........Cole will be giving his defence some confidence in his ability behind them.
I think Cole is quite a decent keeper, although he usually attracts quite a few negative comments at matches. He is on a good run of form and the guy can only improve with playing every game bar injuries it looks like the team is starting to gel into a more cohesive unit.
Have to admit to being one who said get Cole off the pitch a while ago and don't ever let him back on. I'm still not totally convinced but have to say his shot stopping is pretty good. Trouble is a lot of sides bang in high balls and he never ever comes for any and catches. This used to be a critisism of mine of Larrieu although he has improved in that now. If Cole ever learns to do it then he will be a very good keeper. Not so adamant about him not being allowed on the pitch now. A point today was a decent result and if you notice a few more teams are beginning to be dragged into the mire which is a good thing for us. Monday and 3 points would be great but we still have to remember this is Argyle we are talking about and not get carried away.
