Gerrard made the difference - My thoughts on the game

Before I do my review, I want to report some disgraceful scenes at one of the half way houses. I was there, just purchasing a magazine and hot chocolate before the next one hour drive to Anfield, and I saw that bitch Nufctomw. I went over to the counter to say hello, and he revealed a Morrisons bag, with about 23 bags of walkers crisps. The fat ****er. I hope you choked on your ready salted, you podgey ****.

Now on to the game. I thought Liverpool were just the better side, until Gerrard came on and they were completely the better side. Gerrard made the difference. I thought we were worth a draw before Gerrard came on and totally changed the game.

I thought for sure Ba had leveled the game at 2-2, but they cleared off the line.

What pissed me off was the radio stations on the way back, saying we punched above our weight and we had a reality check and all the usual bullshit. It still pisses me off. We never thought we'd finising in the top 4,5 or even 6. I said that we could possibly nick 6th because of Liverpool's inability to put away chances, but most of us targeted 7th and that's still our aim IMO.

IMO we have a stronger team that anyone below 7th, but injuries and losing players to the ACN may kill us a bit. Just a top 10 finish would be a bit disappointing, but I'd class it as a decent season.

Ratings -

Krul - 6 - Didn't really make a save to make. Could do nothing about the goals really. Gerrard's goal was just a great finish.

Simmo - 5 - wtf was he doing in the build up to the 2nd goal? Average performance at best

Colo - 9 - Thought he was class.

Willo - 8 - Good all round performance. Lost a few headers to Carroll, but credit to the lanky streaky of ****, he's good in the air in that aspect. Willo overall was quite solid.

Raylor - 5 - Mauled at times by Liverpool's wingers, but not terrible.

Santon - 6.5 - Much better than Raylor but not amazing. Canny good, but still has a bit to learn.

Obertan - 2 - ****

Tiote - 7.5 - Best performance in a while, good but still a bit off at times.

Cabaye - 7.5 - Some great passes, technically could have got 2 assists tonight. His header that bounced of Ba, and that through ball that Ba almost got his 2nd from.

Jonas - 4 - Is he trying to get suspended again? Stupid ****ing tackles. I understand why he did the first one to get his booking, but he could have received a 2nd with another silly challenge.

Vuckic - 6 - Some decent play but for the most part he was a passenger. Don't understand why Pardew decided to play him tonight. The game was too much for him, for his 2nd PL start. Liverpool away is a very tough game for someone of only 19 with one previous start. Pardew has really made some shocking decisions recently. Even if we played Shola or Best, it would have showed he knew we needed experience tonight.

Ba - 7.5 - Not a brilliant game overall but almost scored two. Not a great first goal, but it's a goal at the end of the day.

Ben Arfa - N/A - Some decent bits and bobs but nothing amazing.

Sammy - N/A - Some decent skill but as expected the pressure from the Liverpool players forced him into a mistake.

MOTM - Colo - Brilliant.

Overall - Gerrard was a class apart and changed the game. If he keeps on playing I have no doubt Liverpool will continue to start winning games instead of drawing them.

I'm disappointed but I was very pleased with the performances of our CB's. We need Santon to start regularly though.

LOL! Na but seriously give Alan smith a wave when you pass him, he's up there in Gerrard's anal passage somewhere.

 

Every one of our players was **** except for Colo who was average, and Ba who had no service. Even Krul's kicking was beyond horrendous.

 

Because he isn't too forgiving of non-believers off the back of a defeat.

Did you notice how the commentators actually praised Gerrard for NOT taking a free kick. I could barely hear them they were so far up his arse. Gary Neville really needed to cover that game, just so he could keep the biased arse licking in check.

In the first half he did actually play quite well and was always willing to get the ball, he didn't do to bad he never lived up to his great standards but thought Cabaye played alot worse!

 

It was one of his worst games for us , if not his worst.

 

Amazing how people can see totally different games. I thought Cabaye and Ba were our only shred of an attacking threat and Cabaye was central to all of our very few strings of passes through midfield and into their half. Conversely, I saw Tiote screw up endless passes and not put in enough tackles for his performance to be considered anything other than poor.

 

I thought Tiote's passing was on and off, but his movement and all round play looked a look sharper than WBA and a better than Bolton also.

It is quite amazing, as I thought Tiote was the one starting attacks most effectively and the game passed Cabaye by and remember mostly his stray passes must be my Tiote-tinted glasses.

I don't get it. If that's him playing well then he's probably the worst DM in the league! His passing is shocking to say the least. I loved watching him last season, but this whole season he's been pretty **** to be fair. If you get 20mil for him in Jan it would be a miracle....... bit like Carroll

And to the OP - Gerrard was quality and just shows how any team would benefit from such a great player. So glad he's back at last - if he can stay fit!
