We deserved to lose today, our performance was abysmal, lets get that one straight off the bat.

    Ratings:

Krul 6- Poor game by his standards, didnt look comfortable collecting the ball and his kicking was atrocious.

Simpson 5- the fact this guy is a premier league footballer shows so much about the decline of modern day football and who passes as a "good player" AS USUAL, he was destroyed all night due to awful positioning and closing down and inexplicably blocked off Krul for the second free kick, ITS BELLAMY FFS, why cover the top corner? Let Krul handle it, if he did it was comfortably saved. Usual ****e.

Williamson 6- Didnt have a particularly bad game but was slow off the mark I thought, could have intercepted a lot more than he did and at times was sloppy playing the ball out of defence.

Coloccini 7- Again poor by HIS standards but was definitely the best defensively, good tackles, good in the air and positioning was mostly good.

Obertan 4- Absolute sack of ****, did nothing right from start to finish, didnt track back, didnt make himself available and was sloppy on the ball on odd time he picked it up, I just said recently that I hope Pardew perseveres with him but he just doesnt look interested, ohhh what to do what to do.

Cabaye 6- Sorry kids but hes not as good as we think he is, 75% of games this season hes been completely anonymous and today was no exception, I hardly saw him get involved and when he did, most of his passes were stray and disappointing. two good moments in the game were the "flick on" for the goal and his beautiful pass for Demba's chance. He doesn't do it enough though.

Tiote 4- Had enough of this guy now, I love him, you love him, and hopefully Chelsea still love him because this season, before and after his injury hes been poor to dreadful, today was abysmal, I couldn't believe what I was seeing at times, two of the goals today came from Tiote's inability to play the ball away from danger when he gets it, he just seems to put his foot on the ball and then lose possession or come close to losing possession constantly, and its been quite regular this season, hes also becoming the most negative player in the team, he very rarely plays the ball forward, he turns passes back to the keeper or to the side, he looks reluctant to play it anywhere else, a lot of my friends reckon hes looking for a move away, but I just think hes been found out by every manager in the league.

Gutierrez 5- Dreadful, didnt beat a single man today and misplaced literally every single pass that wasnt a 5 yarder, wasnt great defensively and really needs to have a word with himself, he was invaluable to the team because of his defensive prowess but now thats not even happening so really what is this guys worth?

Vuckic 5- Apart from get his big nose in the way of the ball to contribute to our goal, he wasn't great at all, lost possession frequently and tried to play clever balls instead of making the simple pass that would take us forward, everyone ****ed over him against West Brom but I thought apart from his pot shots he was distinctly average and he proved me right tonight and showed hes just not ready yet.

Ba 7- A little high maybe, but I thought that attempt that was cleared off the line was world class, to manage to get the ball not only on target but past the keeper from that angle was nothing short of brilliant and he was quite unlucky. Apart from that I thought he could have done better in the air at times and dropped a bit more deep, but to me he didn't look completely fit and didnt seem to have that extra yard of pace he normally has.

    Raylor 6/ Santon 6
Ryan Taylor was decen-ish today, very good delivery again for the goal and played an OK part defensively until he was subbed.

Santon is a player I really like but didnt look match fit again today, even still though he closed down well and managed to make a few surging runs forward, lets just hope he can stay fit and build.

Ben Arfa 5- Barely saw him touch the ball and when he did he tried to beat 2-3 players by himself, someone needs to tell this kid he isn't Ronaldo and that hes playing a team game, and this could possibly be one of the reasons why Pardew is reluctant to start him.

All in all we just weren't good enough on the night and our tactics were awful, we deployed a high line again for most of the game which left us massively exposed when the likes of Bellamy and Downing got in behind, we were caught out on a lot of occasions.

The main factor of how awful our player was though was that we played hoofball again all night, we had one striker and small midfielders who arent good in the air, yet time after time we hoofed the ball forward and lost possession. I sometimes wonder WTF Pardew is playing at.

Obertan was not the worst player on the pitch today.

Those are super generous ratings. We were no where near as good as your ratings would suggest.

Slightly harsh on Tiote and Cabaye but I'll concede they were poor today and Cabaye needs to up his game big time.

I feel your words are very harsh and I can't believe how much Tiote has split opinion today. I thought he played well.

Tiote was probably the most committed player in black and white tonight. Solid 6.

I respect everyone's opinion on this forum and would never discard it because I dont agree with it but I just don't see how anyone could think Tiote played well today, he dithered on the ball a lot today which lost us a lot of possession which ended up resulting in a couple of goals against, he was unable to play the ball out of defence when he had ample time and space to do so and was intent on giving the ball back to Krul which led to our hoofball tactics being even more pertinent.

Alan Smith is also committed when on the pitch. But he's ****.

Tiote was our worst player today , lost count of how many times he gave away possession with his stupid little dribbles and his misplaced passes. And when actually passing into someone's feet , he put his team mate (Simpson , who was also ****) in trouble which led to Liverpool's third and killer goal.

Oh **** off with all the player blaming or we'll end up with Perch and Smith playing after January.

I would also like to add that Cabaye should have walked for the challenge on Spearing. Absolutely no need for it and would have left us completely in the ****.

It wasn't a fair attempt on the ball, Jamie Redknapp got it spot on when he said late challenges that are over the ball like that shouldn't be tolerated, shocking.

Sorry but I thought Tiote wasn't bad today, harsh on Cabaye as well.

It could just be one of those games, lets wait for everything to pan out.

I would say everyone barring Collo (of course) was pretty shocking. You could let Ba off the hook because he was feeding off scraps and was unlucky not to score (also our goal definitely went in off his back). I don't think it is really a time to slate individuals. As a team we were toothless, sloppy and didn't compete.

Man U will be the big chance for some players to redeem themselves and we'll see what their character is like then.

I would love if he was given the goal :D would mean £45 for me.

And mrtiote you complaining about power blaming when a few weeks ago you argued for about 3 pages that perch is our reason for losing all the time?

Would you rather he send it flying towards Reina like the rest of the team were? He got caught in possession because there was no movement at all by his team mates tonight, particularly once we went a goal down. At this point Liverpool had upped the pressing tempo and the rest of our team seemed to have given up.
He is one of a few players in our side who takes the time to try and get a move going when we are under the kosh. Yes on a few occasions he lost possession tonight but I would rather he try this and have a lesser success rate than hoof it to Agger 100% of the time.
