i was persuaded to stay! and ManMountainJaidi, when Bristol City scored and they celebrated in front of Itchen North, a coffee cup was thrown onto the pitch and caught by the referee, who took it to the 4th official and presumably included it in the match report - i presume the club could be fined for this
I hate idiots that do this. Its a nightmare for the stewards and the club. Might have only been a coffee cup but what if it was something else ? No place for that behaviour anywhere.
The club couldn't stop a pitch invasion, for example, but they are held responsible for the actions of their fans. I don't suppose one cardboard cup would lead to any action, but in theory the club could be fined. It's not the brightest thing to do if you are a fan of a club. Unless the person responsible was just trying to get rid of the coffee, and then I would understand. It never tastes good out of cardboard, anyway.
the throwing of any objects onto the field of play during a match is an offence under the Football (Offences) Act 1991 and culprits identified will be charged under the ground regulations and be given a banning order says nothing about clubs but i know it has happened before in Europe i
